Create a site map of a website you are familiar with. It need not be an overly large or complex website (in fact, it would be to your detriment to choose a very large site!). It can be the website of a local business or one in your hometown, or even the website of a friend or one of your own. Something 7 to 10 pages in size is sufficient. All links must be accounted for and mapped. Using Microsoft Word for this is preferred, but you may use any similar software you choose as long as you achieve map with a similar look to those created in Coding Video 2.

The digital transformation of the workplace is an ongoing process for firms that are striving to stay relevant within today’s business environment. Moving towards a digital profile is to some extent inevitable, as information technology (IT) pervades all types of branches and sectors. The Internet of things (IoT) is a catch-all name for the growing number of electronics that aren’t traditional computing devices, but are connected to the Internet to send data, receive instructions or both (Fruhlinger, 2020). IoT encompass many different industries, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, construction, and consumer electronics. IoT devices include wireless sensors, software, actuators, and can be embedded in to industrial equipment,
environmental sensors, medical apparatus, and mobile phones (ARM, 2020). According to Statista, there were 22 Billion IoT devices in use in 2018 and that number is expected to increase to 50 billion in 2050 (Statista, 2020).Discussion Questions

While some disruptions are nearly impossible to prepare for and even more difficult to recover from, others can be addressed with a thorough disaster recovery plan. Assignment Content

1. We spent a large amount of time in class talking about “good” systems and “not so good” systems…and we saw some of the characteristics of each…and I am sure (at least I hope) that while we discussing it, you were thinking of systems that you think are good, and those that you think are not so good…

   So for this assignment, I want you to tell me one system that you think is good, and one system that you think is not so good…if it is a website, include the link…tell me SPECIFICALLY why you think the system is good or not so good…and tell me how you would improve on what they have…

   And I know your next question…how long does this assignment have to be?…well, I am not really into counting words…but just to give you some perspective, I would say that by the time you are done, you should have a least one full page and maybe two full pages…if you wrote half a page, you probably wrote too little…if you wrote 5 full pages, you wrote too much…as I always tell my classes – just write!…and before you know it, you will have 1 to 2 pages…

   Remember, any assignment turned in after the due date and time will lose 5 points per day…so make sure you get these in on time…

A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is defined as a group of educators that meet regularly to share expertise and work collaboratively to improve the learning of all students. Most school environments implement PLCs to provide an opportunity for grade level teachers to work together through the assessment cycle, analyzing student performance data, and determining strategies to improve instruction for students. It is critical for this collaborative analysis to include all students, including those who are above, at, and below grade level, to ensure instruction is stimulating and challenging.

For this field experience, interview a K-3 teacher with PLC experience who has worked collaboratively with a team of teachers to analyze student data, determine appropriate intervention strategies to support all learning levels, and monitor learning progress to demonstrate growth during learning.

In addition, interview an instructional coach or administrator who has facilitated a PLC. While some states may refer to this community in a different way, the goals are similar. 

In your interviews, ask the following questions:

• How does your school implement PLCs?
• What do you focus on during the PLC meetings?
• How do PLCs support collaboration with colleagues to identify common curriculum goals and evaluate progress towards the goals?
• How would you change or modify PLCs?
• What is the biggest change you have seen in student learning since you started collaborating with other educators?

Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.

In a summary of 250-500 words, describe your interviews and reflect on how the information you learned might be applied in your future practice.

Part 1: Small Group Literacy Skills Lesson Plan

With a certified special education teacher in an early childhood elementary (Grades K-3) inclusive setting, identify a small group of students who would benefit from a lesson plan reinforcing a literacy skill previously taught to them. Use the prompts below to help guide a discussion with the mentor teacher about each student’s development.

1. What criteria does the mentor teacher use to assess the students’ literacy skill development and abilities?
2. How does the mentor teacher assess individual and group progress?
3. How does the mentor teacher modify instruction to meet student needs?
4. What are examples of developmentally-appropriate learning experiences the mentor teacher has used to develop students’ literacy skills?
5. Collaborate with the mentor teacher to design a complete standard- based lesson that meets the needs of the identified students, using the “COE Lesson Plan Template.” (Note: The literacy skills lesson will be implemented as part of “Clinical Field Experience B.”)

Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.

Part 2: Rationale

In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect upon your discussion with your mentor teacher, as well as your observations of and participation in the classroom. Discuss the small group literacy skills lesson plan you and your mentor developed, as well as the needs of the students for whom you designed the lesson. Be sure to explain how you will use your findings in your future professional practice.
