[Solved] Psychological Theories Attempt

[Solved] Psychological Theories Attempt

Have you ever had a dream that had great meaning to you, one that may have influenced your life? A number of psychological theories attempt to explain the purpose and the meaning of dreams. One describes dreams as the result of neurons firing while you sleep, while other theorists disagree, and assign great meaning to our dreams. What is your theory about the purpose and meaning of dreams? How does it align (or negate) with another established theory?

[Solved] Also Practice Coding Behavior

Overview

The goal of this exercise is to provide a real-life demonstration of how important and difficult it can be to define a behavioral construct.  You will also practice coding behavior from a short film clip and use your data to examine reliability with your classmates.

Main Discussion Post – Due Wednesday by 11:59pm

Part I: Defining

Imagine that you are a psychology researcher who conducts studies in the area of aggressive behavior. Perhaps you are interested in the effects of aggressive media on behavior in teenagers.  Specifically, you are concerned that viewing aggressive behavior in the media may trigger the early onset of antisocial personality disorder.  Before you begin your research study, you must decide how you will define and measure aggressive behavior.  In other words, what is your operational definition for this construct?

  1.  Form an operational definition of aggressive behavior.

Part II. Data Collection

We are going to view a fight scene from a movie:

Dumb and Dumber Fight SceneLinks to an external site.

Your goal in this part of the activity is to independently quantify the number of instances of aggressive behavior that you observe Harry (blond hair) use in the film clip. Important, you should only count Harry’s behaviors that match your operational definition above

  1. How many instances of aggressive behavior did you observe?
  2. Improve your operational definition of aggression so that it is easier for you to measure aggression.  Give your new operational definition.
  3. Now  watch it again. How many behaviors did you measure this time?
  4. Were your numbers the same or different, if they were different, explain why they were different.
  5. Explain in your own words what the importance of an operational definition is to empirical research.

Please label your answers using the numbers above.

[Solved] Implement Teams Within

[Solved] Implement Teams Within

Unfortunately, groups can wind up being less, rather than more, than the sum of their parts. Why is this?

Imagine a local company has contacted you regarding how they use and implement teams within the workplace.

Include the topics and models covered in the readings: crowding, evaluation apprehension, social loafing, groupthink, group polarization, social pressure, and minority influence.

  • Discuss research findings on the various dynamics of groups of people working together.
  • Each slide should list the model or theory addressed and a scenario to help the organization grasp the key concepts as well as advice on how to overcome the negative effects.
  • Translate the research results into everyday terms, as your audience will be people unfamiliar with psychological jargon.

 COLLAPSE

Nature versus nurture is a “hot topic” in the world of psychology and the balance of each side’s contribution has long been debated. Consider the information provided in your textbook and recent research to discuss this topic.

  1. Provide a summary of the nature/nurture debate.
  2. What are your own thoughts on nature versus nurture? Did they change at all after reading your text, your classmate’s responses or from completing this assignment?
  3. Include recent research (2013-present) on at least two specific behavioral traits that have been studied. If you find non-scholarly sources (e.g., newspaper articles, magazines, etc.) feel free to include them in addition to your scholarly sources. Describe the research (e.g., what they studied and found).
  4. Give your thoughts on the research. Was it surprising? Controversial? Consistent with your beliefs? Did you find contradictory evidence for the role of nature and nurture for the traits you chose?

[Solved] Nature Vs Nurture Debate

[Solved] Nature Vs Nurture Debate

Thank you for your post on the nature vs nurture debate. I find this argument difficult as both components play an important role in who we become in life. An interesting observation that can be made is the impact of culture and how it plays a critical role in how we development throughout our lives. According to Creanza et al. (2017) human cultural traits, behaviors, ideas, and technologies that can be learned from other individuals can exhibit complex patterns of transmission and evolution. I want to ask, do you think culture plays a critical role in the nature vs nurture debate.

Thank you,

Managed Health Care

Most clients are in managed care plans, so to obtain payment for services the service provider must disclose to the healthcare insurance provider confidential information re diagnosis and treatment for a preauthorization of services. Healthcare Insurers may also reserve the right to audit records to confirm authorized services were provided.

The requirement to disclose this information is controversial so in this discussion present your views on the topic and provide one source to support your position.
