[Solved] Osi Reference Model Scoring

[Solved] Osi Reference Model Scoring

Overview

While the OSI Reference Model provides us with a conceptual framework for talking about how networks function, it is the TCP/IP protocols that are essential for actually enabling modern networking and data communications.

Imagine that you are relaxing at your favorite local coffee shop enjoying a delicious beverage. You turn on your laptop or smartphone, connect to the shop’s wireless local area network (WLAN), and use the Internet to access your cloud-based e-mail (for example Gmail). What protocols make it all work?

In this assignment, you explain and illustrate concepts and functioning of some TCP/IP protocol functions and interactions related to the use of cloud-based e-mail from a client connected to a WLAN.

Directions

Part 1 – E-mail client and Cloud-Based E-mail Path Diagram

Draw a diagram of a typical data transmission path between an e-mail client and a cloud-based e-mail server depicting the following components involved in the data transmission.

  • Physical media.
  • Wireless access point.
  • Local and remote switches and routers.
  • Firewalls.
  • ISPs and the Internet Cloud service provider.

Make sure to do the following:

  • Create a network diagram that accurately depicts cloud-based e-mail server to remote client transmission.
Part 2 – The OSI Layer and Security

Write a detailed narrative explanation of the primary function of each OSI layer and describe its part in facilitating a typical data transmission from a cloud-based e-mail server to a remote client computer. After that, describe three or four security issues inherent to the TCP/IP protocol suite.

Make sure to do the following:

  • Explain the primary function of each layer of the OSI model and its related TCP/IP protocols.
  • Describe the OSI layers’ part in facilitating a typical data transmission from a cloud-based e-mail server to a remote client computer.
  • Describe security problems inherent to the TCP/IP protocol suite.

Your goals and motivations are driven by your underlying values—the reasons you desire to achieve certain things. Values inform our thoughts, words, and actions, and they help us to grow, develop, envision and create the future we want to experience.

Now that you have viewed videos and a reading that covered goals, motivation, and values, you’ll reflect on your own goals, motivations, and values and capture your reflections to complete the Unit 1 assignment. This assignment is about understanding your motivations for coming to the university and what drives you to accomplish milestones.

For the assignment you will download the “What Are Your Motivations?” assignment template, then use it to complete the three parts of the assignment.

Part 1: The first step in better understanding your values is by writing three to five goals for yourself. These could be personal or professional goals, and they could be short-term or long-term goals. Be sure to make them SMART goals.

Part 2: Once you’ve established your goals, think about what is motivating you to achieve those specific goals. Is it to get to a certain level in your career? Is it to achieve something you’ve always wanted to for personal reasons? Is it to set a good example for your family or friends? The second piece of this assignment is to establish two or three motivations for each goal you’ve identified.

Your motivation for doing anything generally stems from your values. Motivating forces could be values instilled in you from a young age, or values you hold because of what you’ve learned or been exposed to. Your core values are those that drive your behaviors, actions, and words. They are the reasons we dedicate our time and energy to most things in our lives. They are our guiding principles.

Part 3: Now that you’ve established goals and acknowledged your motivations, look at what’s motivating you, and write the underlying reason for each goal: These are your values. There could be one or several values for each goal that you have, and the values might be the same or similar for different goals.

There are no wrong answers for this exercise. The purpose is to establish your values and to recognize what drives you to accomplish milestones.

Part 4: Now that you’ve established goals, acknowledged your motivations, and reflected on your values, it’s time to consider how to go about achieving your goals. There are likely several steps you’d need to take in order to reach your ultimate goals, but writing down the first step that you can (and will) take can help you to form a plan of action.

Part 5: Finally, you’ll want to write two or more sentences about what you learned about your goals, motivations, and values from completing this assignment.

[Solved] Show Body Language Demonstrated

[Solved] Show Body Language Demonstrated

Hello everyone!

Perception plays a major role in how we communicate and most importantly how effective we communicate with those around us. Perception allows us to organize our thoughts and feelings on how we’re going to communicate moving forward, depending this can be good or bad. Let’s say your perception of someone is somewhat biased in a good way, you’re more likely to communicate more favorably (Coren, 1980). The opposite is true too, if we have a more optimistic perception of someone or something we will communicate a bit better in that sense. Thinking of a time where I communicated with someone of a different culture our lesson this week shows a great communication outline in which I actually used during that encounter. First when we talk about sending a “channel” to the other person I made sure to show body language demonstrated that I was open to trying my best to communicate and understand each other. Once that message was sent to the other person they were able to decode that and send back the same message of understanding, we were able to maintain that structure throughout the conversation. Referring back to our lesson, the example of walkie talkies and sending feedback back in forth came in very handy (Chamberlain University, 2023). The conversation began to evolve as we were able to find common grounds and mutual understandings between cultures, however, there was a point of miscommunication. During the miscommunication due to the way we had already set up our communication tactic which was to be determined to understand we quickly were able to get back on track we both looked at it as a chance to grow, I think we both worked through it efficiently. What could’ve been done better was “self awareness” when we focus too much on what we may not understand or other fears it can affect our perception and communication skills (McLean, 2018).

[Solved] One 10 Years Ago

Analyze: Word of the Year

Evaluation Title: What is Pop Culture?

One way to identify changes in popular culture is to examine new terms and concepts that arise and quickly become prevalent in society.  For example, you may be familiar with the new phrases that arose with the use of smartphones (LOL! OMG! YOLO!) and the new meanings for already familiar words such as text, data, refresh, application, etc.  We use “Google” as a verb today, “Spam” used to be a canned meat product, and “Amazon” no longer first brings to mind a river in South America.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary takes on the challenge of the ever-changing English language by providing definitions for newly adopted and used words in the English language and even selects a “Word of the Year” – a word that takes on a certain significant meaning in the context of current events and culture.  In 2015, it was notable that the “word” of the year wasn’t even a word at all, but instead an emoji!  No one 10 years ago could have predicted this, and it clearly demonstrates the role communication via technology has in today’s culture.

For this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation about popular culture and this year’s Word of the Year.  Look up Merriam-Webster’s most recent Word of the Year (https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/word-of-the-year) and consider the cultural influences and events that drove this selection.  What events are related to this word, and what are their significance?  How does this word present itself in your own thoughts, experiences, and beliefs?  What is the connection between the “Word of the Year” and the concept of Popular Culture?

Specifications:

Submission: A 10-12 slide PowerPoint presentation or Prezi to address the questions posed above. Include speaker notes or a voice-over, images, and videos where applicable.  You will upload your recording web link (URL) if you choose the voice-over option.  If you choose the speaker’s notes option, submit your speaker’s notes as a separate MS Word or PDF document within your submission. Students can upload multiple files to a single assignment submission by selecting +Add Another File.

In your presentation:

  • Clearly explain the meaning of the Word of the Year.
  • Provide 4-5 examples of cultural events that led up to or evolved from this word usage.
  • Reflect on thoughts, experiences, and beliefs regarding this word’s usage in society and your life.
  • Provide speaker notes or a voiceover on the PowerPoint to accompany each slide.  If you choose speaker’s notes, the total word count of your notes should be 750-1000 words.  If you choose to create a voiceover recording, your presentation should be 4-6 minutes long.
  • Include a title slide and include your references page in APA format on the last slide of the presentation.
