PHILOSOPHY MATRICES ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
The overview of the first three modules of this course will lead you into an exploration of
various educational philosophies. Traditional philosophies, modern and post-modern
philosophies, as well as educational theories of transformation and transmission will all be
studied along with their corresponding personalities. This assignment will give you the
opportunity to organize the essential components of each of these major educational philosophies
and to compare these components against one another. The result will be an invaluable tool in
your educational toolbox for years to come.
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the Gutek textbook, the Jerry Falwell library, and any other research databases to complete
the empty white cells in the accompanying template. Your responses in each column should
reflect the beliefs about that category according to the specific philosophy for that section. This
will assist you in comparing the various philosophies. Ensure that the major principles of each
philosophy are clarified. Key words, phrases, and short sentences will suffice. Lengthy
paragraphs are unnecessary. The textbook aligns with the matrix chronologically, so you will
find the information as you read through the book. Much of this information is clear in the text.
For a few of the philosophies near the end of the matrix, however, you may need to make some
inferences based on the information you read. The following list is to help you consider what
should be written in each column.
 Metaphysics = What is reality/truth? What is purpose and meaning in life?
 Epistemology = Is it possible to know reality/truth? If so, how?
 Axiology = What values should be developed in education?
 Learner’s Nature = What is the role of the learner? What is the human condition?
Good? Bad? Neutral? What learner factors should be considered in education?
 Teacher’s Role = What is the most effective approach the teacher should take?
 Curricular Focus = What content is most important?
 Methodology = What pedagogical strategies are most effective?
 Criticisms = What do opponents of this philosophy/theory say about it?
The template will be completed according to the following schedule:
Module: Week Matrices
Module 1: Week 1 Matrices 1–3: Idealism, Realism, and Neo-
Scholasticism
Module 2: Week 2 Matrices 4–5: Pragmatism and Existentialism
Module 3: Week 3 Matrices 6–11: Perennialism, Essentialism,
Behaviorism, Reconstructionism, Critical
Pedagogy, and Constructivism

Note:  The assignments in this course are a series of papers based on the same  case, which is on XanEdu page under the Course Information module.  The  assignments depend on one another.

Write an 8-10 page paper in which you:

  1. Identify the required pre-workshop activities.
  2. Prepare a risk workshop agenda based on the Sample Agenda for a First Risk Assessment/Two-Day Risk Workshop (Figure B-8 in Practical Project Risk Management). Include suggested time intervals for each activity and justify why each agenda item is relevant for this case.
  3. Determine the top five threats in a risk register following the Sample Simplified Risk Register Format (Figure B-11 in Practical Project Risk Management). Include information from the case for each threat.
    • Justify the assignment of probability and impacts for each threat identified.
  4. Document the top three opportunities in a risk register following the Sample Simplified Risk Register Format (Figure B-11 in Practical Project Risk Management). Include information from the case for each opportunity.
    • Justify the assignment of probability and impacts for each opportunity identified.
  5. Use at least three quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The  library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and  formatting. Please refer to the Library site for all support. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Create a risk register that assesses the probability of impacts for  threats and opportunities and is informed by a risk workshop.

Week 8 Discussion – Scope Creep Is Good

   Please respond to the following:

  • In  many risk programs, risks are managed individually. A robust risk  program, however, considers the cumulative effect of all risks. Assess  the following scenario and identify the effect of multiple events on a  risk management strategy:
    • When the Titanic struck the iceberg,  the weather was bad, the lookouts were not properly equipped, the radio  operator was not monitoring other ship traffic in the area, and the ship  design had a major flaw in the construction of the hull’s “watertight”  compartments.

Be sure to respond to at least one of your classmates’ posts.

Respond to student below

Hello Dr. Marion and Classmates

This week’s discussion looks at risk planning for multiple events vs. managing risk individually. The scenario of the sinking of the Titanic was a barrage of bad events happening simultaneously. The  probability of all those issues and the negative impact happening  simultaneously would have been low on a risk probability and impact  matrix. Even each individual one would have had a low probability, with some having a high impact (i.e., weather or design flaws). Even  with low probability, the project should have identified the potential  weather issues, design defects, and staff not following policy. Risk happening one at a time or all at once must be considered in risk planning.

Regardless of whether one risk event materialized or multiple, risk  responses could have been created and helped mitigate some of the impact  of the risk events that happened that night. The bad weather response could have been ‘accept,’ knowing that open oceans can be unpredictable. Accepting potential bad weather could have triggered more training for the crew on how to run the ship in bad weather. The  risk response for the radio operator could have used a ‘mitigation’  response on policies being always created to have two staff on duty. If one stepped away without reason, there would always be a second. The  ship design response could have been a ‘transfer’ strategy, and the  shipbuilder could have hired an independent contractor to inspect the  hull design and potentially discover the flaw and request a change in  design. Responding to the multiple risks could have had a  positive chain reaction that reduced the probability of additional  events happening on the ship.

The project team managing the Titanic would have had to have been  diligent in the monitoring and control phase to continue accessing the  risk register and add/reevaluate new risks as they became known. New  risks could have been identified by other ships experiencing impacting  events that the Titanic crew didn’t know about when first assessing risk  at project initiation.

Feedback welcomed. I hope everybody has a great week!

[Solved] 27 Minutes Https

Watch the following video of 2:27 minutes

 https://youtu.be/1JVN2qWSJF4?si=81YdQU6vLvlw5yVE

and respond to the questions below in 250 words; in order to help you explore this sometimes-insidious (but very common) concept.

  • Based on information presented in the video, how would you define implicit bias? How does the analogy of peanut butter and jelly help us to better understand exactly what implicit bias is and how it works?

  • What are some of the influences or experiences in our lives that might cause us to create implicit biases about groups of people, places, etc.?

  • Aside from the example provided in the video (that media often associates black men with violent crime), can you think of another unfair or biased association created through experiences, media, or any other influences?

  • Explain the difference that the video makes between having implicit bias and being racist. Why do you think that this distinction is important to understand when exploring implicit bias? In other words, what could be the danger of confusing racism and implicit bias?

  • Finally, what is the “blind spot bias”? How do you think that people could work to combat both the blind spot and implicit biases? As always, provide concrete examples.

Please upload a pdf in MLA format answering all questions. (including title and subtitles.)

[Solved] Create Multiple Independent Instances

[Solved] Create Multiple Independent Instances

Virtualization began in the 1960s as a method for logically dividing the system resources provided by mainframe computers between different applications. Since then, the meaning of the term has broadened. Today, virtualization refers to the ability to create multiple independent instances of servers and desktops, with disparate operating systems running on a single physical computer.

Research and write a 500- to 750-word report discussing virtualization and properly using the vocabulary associated with cybersecurity.

Address the following:

  • Describe the fundamental concepts of the cybersecurity discipline and use them to provide system security.
  • Describe the main components of confidentiality, integrity, availability, access, authentication, authorization, nonrepudiation, and privacy.
  • Define and contrast the terms host and guest operating system.
  • Define the term hypervisor.
  • Compare and contrast the different types of hypervisors, how they are used, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a virtualized computing environment.
  • Describe how virtualization can assist a cybersecurity analyst in exploring malware and explain how you would examine attack indicators and attack timing.

Support your report with at least 3 scholarly resources.

[Solved] Create Mosques Without Rulers

[Solved] Create Mosques Without Rulers

Part I

The Safavid and Mughal Empires were based on Islam but were tolerant of other religions and people of other ethnicities besides the majority. For these empires overall, “In North Africa, Asia Minor, and the Middle East, the conquered populations had accepted the religion of the victors [Islam] either because of forced conversions or because of the attractiveness of the simple, dynamic creed” (Barni 84). When these empires took over land, the people were open to Islam in many other regions than the origin of the empire. More of these connections from one empire to newly conquered nations is shown as one empire to another. Abbas, in the Safavid Empire, allowed foreign people to take up government positions (Wood W8 Lecture 1 29:23). This shows tolerance for people that the empire doesn’t reign over. For tolerance of other people within an empire, women were included in society. Rajput Manmati, of the Mughal Empire, “founded the Begum Shahi Mosque in Lahore (1611-14) and constructed a cascading fountain” because this time was full of women helping to design and create mosques without rulers’ input (Schimmel 148). Therefore, women had the ability to contribute to society as an individual, showing tolerance from the empire.

Part II

These empires appear tolerant, but they still prefer themselves. In general, for these empires, “The existence of a large non-Muslim population presented a serious problem to the Muslim rulers. The Koran plainly stated that the duty of a ruler was to convert infidels” (Barni 84). The Safavid Empire consisted of Shi’a Muslims, yet Armenian Christians were a part of the empire. However, as Professor Wood points out, these Armenian Christians were forced to move into Safavid for economic profit (Wood W8 Lecture 1 21:10). Women were considered a part of the Mughal Empire, but women were still being used for convenience. Women were another line in a contract and were an asset to marry away for politics and being recognized only for their familial contributions (Schimmel 145). This shows that people are only meant to be used and these empires were not tolerant.

[Solved] Short Paragraph Using 3

[Solved] Short Paragraph Using 3

Historians tend to claim that the Islamic empires (Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal) were notably tolerant. Indeed, these empires demonstrated a high level of open-mindedness toward religious and ethnic minorities when compared to their European contemporaries. How accurate was this historical narrative?

Part I

Write a short paragraph using 3 examples as evidence supporting this view. 2 pieces of evidence should be quoted or paraphrased from 2 different readings (i.e.: 1 piece of evidence per reading) and 1 piece of evidence should be from lecture. Include an in-text citation for each piece of evidence. In your paragraph, explain how your evidence proves that the Islamic empires were tolerant of religious and ethnic minorities. You may also talk about Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal treatment of women.

Part II

So… you know how modern academia is infamous for only being able to deconstruct existing narratives, and now we’re forever trapped in a cycle of seeking nuance and finding only obfuscation? Let’s do that! Write a short paragraph using 3 examples as evidence supporting an opposing viewpoint. 2 pieces of evidence should be quoted or paraphrased from 2 different readings (i.e.: 1 piece of evidence per reading) and 1 piece of evidence should be from lecture. Include an in-text citation for each piece of evidence. In your paragraph, explain how your evidence proves that the Islamic empires were only tolerant of religious and ethnic minorities when it suited their goals. Construct this paragraph as if Part I were your counterargument, and Part II is your rebuttal. (In other words, acknowledge the opposing viewpoint in this paragraph.)
