[Solved] Writing Feedback

[Solved] Writing Feedback

Part of knowing yourself as a writer is understanding how you process and apply feedback from readers. Next week, you’ll begin keeping a Feedback Journal – a document that will help you keep track of writing feedback and resources you receive this term. For this short two-part Assignment in Week 1, you’ll demonstrate how to access feedback, and initiate a dialogue with your instructor. View the following video for directions to complete this activity.

As you will learn throughout the program, the diagnosis of a variety of psychiatric illnesses is not always an easy or straightforward process. Multiple observations and assessment methods are often employed to reach a diagnosis. This approach can include the use of standardized assessment instruments.  This then aids you in defining a treatment plan and choosing specific treatment plans to use in the care of your clients.

You are tasked with identifying a standardized assessment instrument/tool to measure the disorders listed for each week. You will keep these instruments in the form of a “portfolio” that you can use in your clinical practice to assess clients who present with a variety of symptoms.

Instructions:

Instrument/ Tool criteria:

For each assessment, you are tasked with selecting, you will identify an instrument and:

  1. List what DSM diagnosis the tool/instrument is used for.
  2. Identify an assessment/diagnosis instrument.
  3. Appraise a scholarly, peer-reviewed article that addresses the use of the instrument to support your choice as an evidence-based instrument for practice.
  4. Evaluate the instrument’s appropriateness for diagnosing the condition it is designed to assess or if the developers of the instrument reported that the instrument is only part of a comprehensive assessment for the disorder.
  5. Describe whether or not the instrument can be used to measure patient response to therapy/treatment or if it is strictly for assessment and diagnosis.
  6. Discuss the psychometrics/scoring of the instrument, including reliability and validity.
  7. Discuss any limitations associated with the use of the instrument.
  8. Include a link to view the assessment if possible.

Use the following template in completing your portfolio assignments. Your information can be in bulleted format or just a couple of sentences for each criterion listed above. However, you must use APA citations.  You are NOT required to write this in a paper format.  Turn in one document for each week’s topics.  (However, create a file on your desktop to compile your portfolio as you move through the term.)  This will ensure you can have easy access to show the full portfolio and once you begin clinicals and practice.  Throughout the program, you will continue to add to the portfolio in each course.

Unit 1: Topic Identification

King (2023) explained there are four key attitudes of scientific research including critical thinking, skepticism, objectivity, and curiosity. This first assignment will focus on the last attitude of curiosity. What are you curious about related to human behavior? Have you ever wondered, “Why did they do that?” when looking at someone else’s behavior. The first step in writing is to choose a topic that interests you.

Assignment Instructions:

For the first assignment, you will need to spend some time looking through the textbook, The Science of Psychology: An Appreciative View (King, 2023). You may want to start with the chapter titles and then look within a chapter that seems interesting. Browse the chapter for specific topics, concepts, theories, ideas, etc, that seem to spark your interest. Make a list of these topics as you look through the text.

From this list, identify three (3) that you might want to explore further. Is it something you want to learn more about? Do you have personal experience with that topic? Is it something you have never heard of but at first glance are curious about?

Student Response:

  1. List 3 topics (concepts, research findings, theories, ideas, etc.) from the text that sound interesting to you. Write the page number and write the definition from the textbook.
  2. Topic 1:
    1. Page number:
    2. Definition:
  3. Topic 2:
    1. Page number:
    2. Definition:
  4. Topic 3:
    1. Page number:
    2. Definition:

Once completed, you will submit your assignment for grading.

[Solved] Behavioral Health Prevention Summary

[Solved] Behavioral Health Prevention Summary

This assignment comprises two components, a behavioral health prevention program design and a behavioral health prevention summary report, addressing the behavioral and psychological factors promoting healthy living and disease prevention.
Part 1: Behavioral Health Prevention Program
Design a behavioral health prevention program that outlines the program and addresses the following:

  1. Program mission and vision, including theoretical knowledge of working with individuals and families in the community.
  2. Stakeholders involved in the program: patients; paraprofessionals; therapists; educational institutions; public health, government, and community agencies; the local community; etc.
  3. Roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
  4. Behavioral and psychological barriers that impede behavior modification and disease prevention: role of behavior and prevention in maintaining health.
  5. Recommendations for behavior modification and disease prevention: factors promoting healthy living and factors promoting disease prevention.

Use the school Library databases; include two to four outside scholarly resources for evidentiary support.
Part 2: Behavioral Health Prevention Summary Report

Use two to three scholarly resources to support your explanations. For example, if you chose a specific program design or intervention does the literature support this as being an effective program? Was it successful and how do you know it was successful? Have other prevention programs found measureable outcomes that you plan to replicate?  How does your program build on a successful program to target the community you’re serving?
