[Solved] Week 2 Discussion

[Solved] Week 2 Discussion

  1. Choose a data set of fuel prices from the attached Excel file.
  2. Find the mean and standard deviation for the data set.  Please do not try to do this by hand, but use the functions in Excel.
  3. Find the 95% Confidence Interval for your data.

Response Post Instructions:

Respond to two of your classmates by analyzing what the confidence interval means in this scenario and how this data can be used.  And then compare how the results vary between the different data sets.

Sample initial post:

  • First find the mean and standard deviation.  (Refer to video in week 2 discussion.)
  • Then type this in an excel cell =confidence.norm(0.05,stdev,samplesize) and hit enter. This is the E value.  (Note:  please use your standard deviation and sample size and not the words.)
  • Set up your confidence interval:  (mean-E, mean+E)

The formula is E= zsubc * sigma / sqrt n

Where the left hand endpoint is xbar – E and the right hand endpoint is xbar + E

To earn full credit for this discussion, you must respond to at least two (2) of y

[Solved] 25Th Percentile Per Cdc

[Solved] 25Th Percentile Per Cdc

Consider the following patient scenario:

A mother comes in with 9-month-old girl. The infant is 68.5cm in length (25th percentile per CDC growth chart), weighs 6.75kg (5th percentile per CDC growth chart), and has a head circumference of 43cm (25th percentile per CDC growth chart).

Describe the developmental markers a nurse should assess for a 9-month-old female infant. Discuss the recommendations you would give the mother. Explain why these recommendations are based on evidence-based practice.

[Solved] One Scholarly Reference Outside

[Solved] One Scholarly Reference Outside

Nurse scholars have claimed that nursing is both a discipline and a profession. In order to understand these claims, we must first know what it means for nursing to have a “unique body of knowledge.” If we assume that nursing does, indeed, possess a unique body of knowledge, we can claim that nursing is a “basic science” rather than an “applied science.” Despite these claims, debate continues about nursing as discipline, profession, and science. Is nursing a discipline? A profession? Is nursing a basic science and/or applied science? In your initial post, state what you think about nursing as discipline, profession, and science. Explore the literature beyond that assigned to you for this week’s readings to help you formulate your position. You should include the following:

  • What is a discipline? What is a profession? What’s the difference? What are examples of each?
  • Does nursing fit the criteria for a “discipline” and “profession”?
  • What is a “basic science”? What is an “applied science”? What’s the difference?
  • Is nursing a “basic” or “applied” science?
  • Support your statements with scholarly references. You may use those from the assigned readings for this module, but you must also select and use (via your literature search) a minimum of one scholarly reference outside of assigned readings in your initial post.
  • Present your posts and replies in a professional, scholarly manner. Use the APA publication manual to format citations and references.

[Solved] Focus Narrow Select

[Solved] Focus Narrow Select

ubmit an introductory literature review that would be similar to the introduction of the manuscript for a research paper. This will provide a conceptual overview of a topic of your choice (related to learning and motivation), synthesizing for the reader what research has been previously conducted on the topic, what theoretical frameworks have guided this work, what is currently known about the topic, and what is not (yet) known. This paper should NOT be a simple listing of previous studies that have been conducted and what was done in those studies. Instead, you should build a story about what the status of current knowledge is on your topic based on your scholarly examination of the literature; YOUR VOICE and YOUR SYNTHESIS of the literature on this topic as an author must be clear in this literature review. Some writing tips:

  1. Every journal article begins with a literature review. Model yours after one from this class or a previous class you’ve taken that you found easy to read.
  2. Do not begin paragraphs by mentioning a study or authors. Start paragraphs with a thought, important point you want to make, or a question that you will address in that paragraph.
  3. Keep your focus narrow–select a small number of variables that are related to the topic you’ve selected and review the research that has been conducted to study the impact of those variables on your topic. You want to aim for scholarly depth rather than comprehensive breadth. This will help you with #4 below.
  4. Your literature review should end with a statement of critical research questions that are of interest to you and two or more specific hypotheses that you one might design a study to test.
  5. Review the evaluation rubric before you turn in your paper to make sure you have hit all of the expected elements.

Length: 10-15 pages (not including cover page & references)References: Minimum 10 peer-reviewed empirical (original) scholarly articles
Note: *A scholarly journal article is one that has been peer-reviewed. An original research article includes the first-time report of a research study or studies the author(s) conducted including methodology, results, and discussion. If your article does not have a Methods section and participants, it is not the right type of article for this assignment. If you are not sure about the article(s) you have selected, please ask your professor.
According to the APA manual (p. 10),Literature reviews are critical evaluations of material that has already been published. By organizing, integrating, and evaluating previously published material, authors of literature reviews consider the progress of research toward clarifying a problem. In a sense, literature reviews are tutorials, in that authors

  • define and clarify the problem;
  • summarize previous investigations to inform the reader of the state of research;
  • identify relations, contradictions, gaps, and inconsistencies in the literature; and
  • suggest the next step or steps in solving the problem.

Be sure to use APA style, including appropriate grammar, spelling, and mechanics, as well as citations and references.
