General Directions

Review the provided case study to complete this week’s discussion.

Include the following sections:

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.
   1. Select one drug to treat the diagnosis(es) or symptoms.
   2. List medication class and mechanism of action for the chosen medication.
   3. Write the prescription in prescription format.
   4. Provide an evidence-based rationale for the selected medication using at least one scholarly reference. Textbooks may be used for additional references but are not the primary reference.
   5. List any side effects or adverse effects associated with the medication.
   6. Include any required diagnostic testing. State the time frame for this testing (testing is before medication initiation or q 3 months, etc.). Includes normal results range for any listed laboratory tests.
   7. Provide a minimum of three appropriate medication-related teaching points for the client and/or family.
2. Integration of Evidence: Integrate relevant scholarly sources as defined by program expectations:
   1. Cite a scholarly source in the initial post.
   2. Cite a scholarly source in one faculty response post.
   3. Cite a scholarly source in one peer post.
   4. Accurately analyze, synthesize, and/or apply principles from evidence with no more than one short quote (15 words or less) for the week.
   5.  Include a minimum of two different scholarly sources per week. Cite all references and provide references for all citations.
3. Engagement in Meaningful Dialogue: Engage peers and faculty by asking questions, and offering new insights, applications, perspectives, information, or implications for practice.
   1. Peer Response: Respond to at least one peer on a topic other than the initially assigned topic.
   2. Faculty Response: Respond to at least one faculty post.
   3. Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.
4. Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
5. Reference Citation: Use current APA format to format citations and references and is free of errors.

Overview As you move forward in your academic and professional careers, you will encounter many different perspectives around topics you are engaged in. One of the hallmarks of an open-minded person is the ability to recognize and appreciate the value of looking through different lenses to arrive at informed views. In this course, you have begun examining the world through the four lenses of the liberal arts.  For this project, you will go through the process of finding information on a topic of interest to you and viewing this topic through different lenses to get a more complete picture of the topic and its impact on you. This project will be based on one of the following topics and its provided resources in the library guide, which you chose in Module Three:  Voting rights Climate change Justice 

 

1. Create a PowerPoint or Prezi presentation with 13 slides, providing information about the United States Constitution. to educate a group of students or adults about the core tenets listed below for an upcoming Constitution Day celebration in a school setting.
2. You may select a grade level 1-12, teachers, or parents as your audience. Please specify your intended audience and include other pertinent information within the speaker notes. Your presentation should be engaging and appropriate for your chosen audience.
3. Include speaker notes below each content-related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 50-100 words in your speaker notes per slide.
4. Provide slides on the following topics:

Ethical Dilemma Oral Presentation and Literature Review:
Please select a minimum of 3 ethical standards from the NOHS Ethical Standards website (www.nationalhumanservices.org/ethical-standards-for-hs-professionals). Create an ethical dilemma based upon the standard(s). You may use the vignettes in the textbook to base your hypothetical ethical dilemma on. Research the standard(s) to support the dilemma you developed, and the presentation must include:

1. Clear description of the ethical standard(s), the reason why the standard(s) is important, any relevant history or examples (i.e., abuses).
2. A clear description of the dilemma being proposed, and how it relates to the ethical standard(s).
3. Resolution to the ethical dilemma (feel free to be creative).
4. Research supporting the ethical dilemma and resolution as being valid. 
5. An explanation of how this relates to the human services field (i.e., not medical, etc.).
6. The use of PowerPoint for the presentation of at least five or more references.
7. A power point presentation should be submitted with 10-20 slides with lecture notes stating what you would have explained if in person presenting this information. At the instructor’s discretion, students should either record a voice-over for the presentation or provide speaking notes in the “notes” section of each slide
8. A two to three-page Literature Review summary should be submitted in APA format, explaining key points from your research.
9. Should have some media and/or interactive portion with the audience.
