You will select two of the fifteen characteristics and form a comparison between them, using the research you completed during your previous Research Diary Log assignments. After explaining the results of your research on each of your chosen characteristics, you will conclude the assignment by sharing a proposal for how the two characteristics can be uniquely and meaningfully connected.

1. Provide an example of a bad listening practice. How is this demonstrated through nonverbal communication?
2. What is empathetic listening? Describe the nonverbal communication cues associated with this practice.
3. In your response posts, consider what you and your classmates have in common based on what each of you shared. What did you find especially interesting or insightful about your classmate’s perspective?

1. Identify the person or company of focus, explaining their context and why this case is important to study. Share why you selected this particular case as your choice. 
2. Evaluate their ability to persuade. What techniques or principles do they utilize in their speaking/presentations? How does the audience respond? Why is it effective? Do they transform their audience? If so, how? 
3. Explain, in your opinion, why this person is considered a great communicator. Do you personally resonate with this person? Why or why not? What ideas for your own presentations do you take away from this Case Study?

Achievement vs. Mastery of the Competency

Note: Hinduism and Buddhism

Most people are familiar with the saying, “What goes around, comes  around.” It describes karma and dharma, which are central concepts of  the belief system in both Hinduism and Buddhism. This cause-and-effect  relationship shows if you do good things, positive things will happen to  you in the future; conversely, if you do bad things, negative things  will happen to you. These religions also focus a great deal on  meditating to receive answers to life’s questions. Both believe that  suffering is a large part of life, and in this suffering, people have an  opportunity to do good. Removal of material possessions as a means to  allow for suffering is a concept many people cannot fathom in today’s  world. For this assessment, you will consider what you have explored in  this Competency related to the importance that Buddhism and Hinduism  place on meditation, suffering, and doing good things in life.
