[Solved] 3 Questions – 1

[Solved] 3 Questions – 1

Week 5 Discussion Board

This week you are going to practice identifying conceptual problems, formulating Level 3 Questions, and producing thesis statements. Just as a refresher, here is how I would define a conceptual problem and Level 3 Question:

A conceptual problem is a historical issue wherein you can find some question, controversy, contradiction, or gaps in information. It can also just be something you found yourself curious about when doing the readings.

Here are some examples of research questions based on last week’s readings:

  • Different responses to the Black Death
  • Socio/economic impact of Black Death (Was the Black Death bad for everyone?)
  • Early-modern gender norms (Did they change during the Renaissance?)

A Level-3 research question focuses on the conceptual problem’s controversy, contradiction, or gaps in information. A Level 3 Question has these characteristics:

1. Open-ended and has multiple possible answers.

2. Can be answered using evidence and inductive logic.

3. Is similar to a conceptual problem, but more specific and focused

4. Should be specific enough that the question can be addressed within the allotted word count.

Here are some examples of research questions based on last week’s readings:

  • “How did the Sunni Muslim community in Damascus respond to the Black Death?”
  • “What economic impact (if any) did the Black Death have on the middle class in England?”
  • “What impact did the Renaissance have on Italian gender norms?”

For this week, I would like you to identify 2 conceptual problems in response to this week’s readings. Next, write 2 Level-3 Questions – 1 per conceptual problem. When developing your research questions, consider how different readings (and Professor Wood’s lectures) from this week fit together conceptually. For example, the first two readings are on Zheng He’s expeditions, so you should consider both readings when formulating a research question on this topic. Finally, write a short answer (thesis statement) to each of your Level-3 Questions.

Your thesis can be short, but it should clearly and concisely answer your Level-3 Question. Include a topic sentence, evidence, and analysis of why your evidence addresses the research question. Your evidence should reference at least one of the readings (include in-text citations.)

**Label each part of the assignment as follows:

Conceptual Problem 1:

[1 or 2 sentences]

Level-3 Question 1:

[1 or 2 sentences]

Thesis 1:

[3-5 sentences.]

Fortunately, the inability to ambulate >50 feet can be temporary. There modifications to the home environment would be temporary as well. This might be things like extra seating thru out the home for short rest periods. You might get a mobility assistive device.

Is there an obligation for the employer to make accommodations?

It may not be safe to are-arrange the furniture in the work place to accommodate the rest periods etc?

One approach to the personal life is to be better organized. This could involve the entire family.

You might have to cluster tasks so you only have to make one trip around the house. You might have make one trip out the mail box each day and would benefit from doing other out doors chores at the same time.

Conserving energy can be the solution. While it is not a modification to the physical environment it is important t plan ahead. Thus might not be skill the older adult has practiced in some time.

Any thoughts on how to prepare the older adult to be better organized?

Overview

For this Assessment, you will answer a series of short answer  questions to demonstrate your understanding of the key concepts and  principles related to the study of world religions.

Instructions

To complete this Assessment, do the following:

Before submitting your Assessment, carefully review the rubric. This  is the same rubric the assessor will use to evaluate your submission,  and it provides detailed criteria describing how to achieve or master  the Competency. Many students find that understanding the requirements  of the Assessment and the rubric criteria help them direct their focus  and use their time most productively.

Important Information on Interpreting the Assessment Rubric (click to expand)

Achievement vs. Mastery of the Competency

  • Mastery of this Competency means that 80% or more of the rows have  been assessed as Exceeds Expectations and no rows have been assessed as  Does Not Meet Expectations.
  • Achievement of this Competency means that all rows are assessed at  Meets Expectations or above (but lower than the 80% threshold required  for Mastery).

Assessment of Individual Rubric Rows

In order to achieve Meets Expectations for a  particular row of the rubric, you must have adequately completed all  criteria in that row. This means that you have addressed all required  elements to the required level of quantity and/or quality.

In order to achieve Exceeds Expectations for a  particular row of the rubric, you must have adequately completed all  criteria in the row, and in addition, your response must reflect a depth  and breadth of knowledge and expertise. Examples of this include—but  are not limited to—the following:

  • You provide additional, specific, and/or particularly relevant examples to illustrate points made.
  • You seamlessly incorporate your original thoughts and diverse,  credible, and relevant academic sources, when applicable, to express  your viewpoint or develop a persuasive argument.
  • You demonstrate a deeper understanding of the subject that draws  from discipline-specific knowledge and theory and incorporates the  viewpoints of a diverse set of business and management thought leaders.
  • You draw additional connections between multiple, complex topics to support your explanations.
  • You are able to apply your knowledge in unique, creative, and/or innovative ways.
  • You thoroughly break down concepts into simpler parts and use your understanding of business to make connections.
  • Your analysis is insightful and original.
  • You design processes, products, and/or solutions that are creative, high-quality, and innovative.
  • You consider diverse perspectives and relevant social, ethical, and  business-related issues when proposing new ideas or formulating  judgments.

All submissions must follow the conventions of scholarly writing.  Properly formatted APA citations and references must be provided where  appropriate. Submissions that do not meet these expectations will be  returned without scoring.

Note: The Foundation of Religion

Religion can provide a connection for people based on common ethics,  morals, and spiritual beliefs. The foundations of religious traditions  allow for the answering of certain questions pertaining to how we came  to be, why we are here, and what will come of us after death? The Global  Village allows individuals to examine how religious foundations in  different parts of the world play an integral part in various aspects of  society. For this assessment, you will consider what you have explored  in this Competency related to religious foundations and traditions, the  sociological study of religions, and the role that the Global Village  plays in our study of religion today.

[Solved] Good Public Speaking

[Solved] Good Public Speaking

A key factor of good public speaking is understanding your audience. This is especially important when preparing arguments and persuasive appeals. Thus, for this activity you need to present the argument or thesis for your persuasive speech, and do a little audience analysis of your own based on comments in the discussion.

  1. Post a new thread with your topic/argument for your persuasive speech. Then, ask your classmates the following:
    1. Do you strongly agree, agree, undecided, disagree, or strongly disagree with this argument?
    2. What questions do you hope this speech answers?
    3. What more would you want to learn during the course of this speech?

[Solved] May Also Debate

Select a psychotic disorder. In your initial post, describe a person with the psychotic disorder you selected. Discuss the person’s symptoms. Describe how the person behaves in abnormal ways.
When participating in this discussion, take on the role of a clinician and suggests methods to treat the person described. You can generate discussion by asking questions to the clinician who responds to your initial post. You may also debate the best treatment methods (between clinicians who are recommending treatment to the person).

[Solved] Introductory Literature Review Similar

[Solved] Introductory Literature Review Similar

In Week 7 of this course, you will be asked to submit an introductory literature review similar to the introduction of the manuscript for a research paper. This will provide a conceptual overview of a topic of your choice (related to learning and motivation), synthesizing for the reader what research has been previously conducted on the topic, what theoretical frameworks have guided this work, what is currently known about the topic and what is not (yet) known. For Week 5 (this week), you will submit an outline of the introductory literature review. It should include in-text citations and references to at least 10 peer-reviewed journal articles that report on original studies that have been conducted (not secondary sources).

Note: *A scholarly journal article has been peer-reviewed. An original research article includes the first-time report of a research study or studies the author(s) conducted, including methodology (participants), results, and discussion. If your article does not have a Methods section, it is not the right type of article for this assignment. If you are not sure about the article you have selected, please ask your professor.

Please note that the outline should not contain roman numerals or alphabet-style labels.  Labels will be headings that would be appropriate for the paper. Use paragraph form to describe what you will discuss in each section. Outline examples will be discussed in KL (Week 5).  Attend or watch the recording before submitting the assignment.

For the Week 5 outline:

1. First, give a brief overview of what your paper topic is and what you will accomplish in the paper (thesis statement)
2. Use headings to group the major themes (and subthemes) you will cover in the paper. Be specific with your headings and check that they match what you are discussing (with the same level of specificity).
3. Under each heading, give a brief description of what you will discuss in the section and use in-text citations to support the major points you will make. Begin paragraphs with the main point you will make in the section, then use citations to support that point. Note- citations should be integrated into paragraph form to demonstrate what specific points they will support. Citations should NOT simply be listed at end of the paragraph. Demonstrate how the citations support the point(s) you are making.  This will help you prepare for synthesis (looking across multiple studies) rather than a simple point-by-point (reporting) approach. Expect to have multiple citations under each heading. If you have a proposed section with only one citation, make a note that you will search/include more in the final paper.
4. Use at least 10 scholarly peer-reviewed empirical articles.  You may include more, as 10 is the minimum (not maximum).
5. Be sure to use APA style, including the title page, appropriate grammar, spelling, and mechanics, as well as citations and references.
