Complete a review of an assessment in your specialization area using the Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY). Read the review for your chosen assessment tool in the MMY and other scholarly articles that establish the appropriate use of the assessment and what it purports to measure.

Complete the following for your assignment:

  • Identify the history of assessment in counseling. Describe the importance of assessment in counseling and the role of assessment in your specialization.
  • Complete a review of the selected assessment. What is the reliability and validity of the assessment?
  • Analyze the theoretical basis for the selected assessment tool in your area of professional practice. (All assessments are rooted in theory. For example, the Beck Depression Inventory is rooted in Beck’s Cognitive Theory.)
  • Apply ethical considerations associated with administering the selected assessment. Provide an example to demonstrate that you understand how ethical considerations apply to the use of your selected assessment. Some considerations include counselor competency, client rights, counselor responsibilities, and legal issues.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of the assessment tool for use with the diverse groups that you may encounter in your specialization using the reviewer’s evaluation of the assessment and your own conclusions. How does this comparison inform making an ethical judgment of administering the selected tool with diverse groups of clients? Be certain to integrate these codes into your discussion and cite the relevant sections of the code of ethics for your profession (ACA or ASCA, which you can find in the Week 4: Mental Measurements Yearbook Review and Ethical Use of AssessmentLinks to an external site. reading list).—- see link below
  • Discuss how an analysis of this review convinced you to use or not use this assessment in your specialization.
  • Incorporate a minimum of five scholarly research studies applying the selected assessment tool in professional practice.

CLINICAL PERSONALITY ASSESSMENTS

Clinical personality assessments can only be completed and interpreted by a licensed psychologist who is trained in testing and assessments. Personality testing is usually done as a part of a larger battery of psychological assessment.  An individual or even several personality tests would not be administered in isolation without the supporting evidence from other testing and interviews.  This week you will become familiar with some of the main personality testing instruments.

WEEKLY RESOURCES

TO PREPARE

  • Review the Learning Resources about the six clinical personality measures (i.e., Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2, Millon Clinical Mutliaxial Inventory-III, Personality Assessment Inventory, Revised NEO Personality Inventory, the Rorschach, the Thematic Apperception Test). Then, choose one that will be the focus of your Assignment.

ASSIGNMENT: (2–3 PAGES, IN ADDITION TO TITLE PAGE AND REFERENCES)

Review one of the clinical personality measures from the materials you studied this week (i.e., Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2, Millon Clinical Mutliaxial Inventory-III, Personality Assessment Inventory, Revised NEO Personality Inventory, the Rorschach, or the Thematic Apperception Test) and include the following in your review:

  • Provide a detailed description of a clinical personality measure (i.e., Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2, Millon Clinical Mutliaxial Inventory-III, Personality Assessment Inventory, Revised NEO Personality Inventory, the Rorschach, or the Thematic Apperception Test).
  • Evaluate strengths and limitations of this personality measure.
  • Provide a minimum of two (2) examples and explain how this clinical personality measure could be used in professional settings.
  • Explain how a personality theory/theoretical orientation you studied in Module 1 relates to the clinical personality measure you selected for this Assignment. There is not necessarily a right or wrong answer but rather a rationale you provide in your analysis.

In addition to the Learning Resources, search the Walden Library and/or internet for peer-reviewed articles to support your Assignment. Use proper APA format and citations, including those in the Learning Resources.

  3. Identify and describe the characteristics of who or what the problem affects.
  4. Name some of the effects this problem has.
  5. Describe how this issue is relevant to social work practice.

The length of response should be approximately one typed page or 400-600 words.)

[Solved] Investigating Current Practices Performed

[Solved] Investigating Current Practices Performed

Accurate documentation and record keeping are vital to the profession. Documenting that the research subject (client/patient) has read and understood both 1) informed consent to research participation (treatment), and 2) the legal ramifications of mandated instances in which treatment-related information must be released are ethically imperative. In the workplace, it is critical to apply due diligence by continually monitoring, reviewing, and investigating current practices performed, to confirm that they adhere to the APA code of ethics and standards of the profession.

  • Analyze the ethical issues related to documenting informed consent and ethical release of treatment and assessment records.
  • Which enforceable standards are relevant to the release of treatment-related materials and disclosure of information arising out of treatment?
  • Provide specific examples of what each enforceable standard requires or prohibits.
  • Provide a rationale for your proposed actions in your example and why they are consistent with ethical guidelines.
  • Evaluate the legal issues associated with assessment, testing, and diagnosis documentation in professional psychology.
  • What specific legal issues can arise in documenting assessment, testing, and diagnosis?
  • Provide specific examples that support your evaluation.
  • Provide a rationale for your proposed actions in your example and why they are consistent with legal requirements.

[Solved] Least One General Intervention

[Solved] Least One General Intervention

Student will begin individual work on the Diagnosis Book Project for spinal cord injury.

Students will complete each step of the diagnosis book (Steps one through five, 1-5).  The first (1st) four (4) steps are to be conceptualized as general scientific information related to the illness/injury/condition.  Step five (5) is application of the discovered general scientific information to a specific case study.

**It is important for students to note for step four (4), at least one general intervention must be evidence based and the student must provide the documentation to support the selection of the intervention from a scholarly source.

[Solved] Create Meaningful Transitions Please

[Solved] Create Meaningful Transitions Please

Submit a summary about all the concepts that you have learned in the course of this week.  However, in order, to get the full credit, it should be well thought out and a multi-paragraph text (at least 500 words).

  • Title: Give  a meaningful title
  1. Paragraph: Introduction (the big picture + what you are going to cover)
  2. Paragraph: The Scientific Method
  3. Paragraph: Atoms and Chemical Bonds
  4. Paragraph: The Properties of Water
  5. Paragraph: Biological (Macro)Molecules
  6. Paragraph: Summary
  • References: List ALL your sources

Additional advice:

  • Be detailed (500 words is the minimum, NOT the ideal, NOT the max!)
  • Do not repeat yourself!
  • Create meaningful transitions
  • Please do not quote – quotation is very, very rare in science!

Signature Assignment Presentation (PLO 2) – Due in Week 3

Each student will investigate one specific health behavior that will be chosen from the list below. The purpose of the presentation is as follows: 1) to describe behavioral and non-behavioral variables contributing to morbidity and mortality; 2) discuss methods that have used a health behavior theory or model to change a health behavior. In-text citations and references are to be cited using the APA 6th Edition. Each slide should have narration. The presentation should contain at least one of the following: graph; chart; graphic; photo; brief content with no spelling mistakes on each slide.

Students will work individually to present a PowerPoint presentation with at least 10 slides and 7-10 minutes in length that cites evidence from credible sources (e.g., peer-reviewed journals, government reports, textbook) to:

  • define the health behaviorexplain the public health significance of the health behavior (e.g., prevalence, population, morbidity, mortality)
  • identify at least one behavioral variable (e.g., risk factor) contributing to morbidity and/or mortality associated with the health behavior
  • identify at least one non-behavioral variable (e.g., health consequence) contributing to morbidity and/or mortality associated with the health behavior
  • describe at least one intervention that used a health behavior theory or model and was effective in modifying the health behavior

Presentation Topics Based on Health Behaviors Identified in Health People 2020
Note: It is the responsibility of each student to focus on the health behavior (e.g., smoking, binge drinking, insufficient sleep, condom use) aspect of any Healthy People 2020 objective that can be addressed to prevent morbidity (i.e., disease) and mortality (i.e., death). Health behaviors can be associated with protection (e.g., meeting physical activity guidelines) or risk (e.g., smoking cigarettes which can lead to lung disease).
