After finishing our reading assignment, let’s just jump right into simulations. In this discussion I want you to tell me briefly how would you design a simulation project to study COVID-19 spread on a university campus. The general goal is obvious – try to predict how quickly would the disease spread under various scenarios.

Questions to keep in mind: What elements would your simulation model? What things do you think are important to consider, and how do you think we can implement them? What would be the inputs into your simulation? What parameters do you want to alter for “what if” scenarios?

Remember, this is our first week, we are not supposed to know much, so just show me your thought on the matter. I will not be grading harshly (as long as I see that you put some thought in it). Also, keep it brief (about a “page”), we do not want a full blown project yet.

Title: Cloud-Based Web application 

You are part of a startup company. A startup company is a newly formed business with particular momentum behind it based on perceived demand for Web Based Software applications in one of the given fields below. The intention of your startup is to grow rapidly as a result of offering something that addresses a particular market gap in one of the following areas.  Your team was tasked to Develop a new Cloud-Based Web application for Desktop and Mobile for one of the topics below.

• A new Food delivery app
• A new Dating App
• A new Real Estate sales app
• A new Healthcare application

Select just ONE  of  topic and then explain what this new application would do.

As a startup company, your team has limited resources ( less money and very small  IT infrastructure ) .  

Once you have done that, answer the following questions.

Question 1 What cloud service model you would  use for this app when you are  developing the software ?

Question 2  What cloud service model you would  use  so  the customer can access to the software and use it?

Question 3 What cloud deployment  model  you would use to keep data  and all transactions?

 

Health care economics has the potential to affect each of us either personally or professionally. This impact can be viewed from a health economics point-of-view (where we discuss the value of health care and its efficiency) or it can examine how health care is financed (focus on how health care is funded). Health economics and health care funding have the potential to influence health care outcomes in a variety of ways. The bulleted list below outlines topics and health care issues that many institutions encounter. Organizations often have to implement strategies or initiatives to resolve or improve these issues and create positive patient and institution outcomes.

Examples of health care economic issues:

• The influence of health care economics on community health—for example, social determinants of health (such as access to care and health care finance).
• Supply and demand: How do we in the health care environment exist when there are more needs from communities and patients than we have the resources to supply? An example of this would be a high number of patients and low resource levels such as staff, supplies, and equipment.
• The public’s attitude toward health, disease, and the health care system—for example, how money is distributed has the potential to impact the health care outcomes of certain populations. An example of this would be the lack of access and funding for underserved and rural communities.
• Other issues might include access to care, social determinants of health, senior health, food insecurity or food desserts, inadequate staffing, homelessness, rehospitalization environmental issues leading to chronic disease, etc.

As you move through this course, you will work toward developing a potential solution for a health care issue within your current or desired health care system. The goal of this assignment is to identify an economic health care issue that you will address throughout the course.

Later in the course, you will (a) conduct a needs analysis to justify your focus on this topic area using the literature of the field, (b) present an argument for change in your organization bolstered by a cost-benefit analysis, and (c) advocate for this change at the state level. Keep these future assignments in mind as you select your topic.

Instructions

For this assignment, you will write a brief 2–3 page report about the health care economic issue that you have identified. In addition, you will also be asked to address the reasons why you selected the issue you did, how this issue impacts the work of you, your colleagues, and your organization, as well as describe the gap that you see contributing to this issue.

Be sure to address each main point. Read the performance-level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed. In addition, note the requirements for document format and length and for supporting evidence. Review the assignment instructions and scoring guide to ensure you understand the work you will be asked to complete and how it will be assessed.

Overall, you will be assessed on the following criteria:

• Describe a health care economic issue and how it impacts a specific community or population.
  • Note the data, information, or observations used to support your description.

  While you are in the infancy of thinking about your dissertation topic, it helps to begin with the end in mind.  During your literature review, you will uncover a gap in the scholarship on your proposed topic.  While this gap may be content or methodological-specific, it is critical to think about the type of methodology your study will employ as you begin your search.  Therefore, you will review the University of the Cumberland’s doctoral research handbook for approved research designs. You will not be “locked in” to your choice until your IRB is approved in DSRT 839, but you should have a general idea of how you will collect data on your proposed topic.  Directions:  1. Review the appendices of the doctoral research handbook to determine a possible research design for your study. 2. Start a new thread in this discussion board whereby you include the following:

1. One brief paragraph overview of your proposed dissertation topic. Topic is Cyber Security
2. One brief paragraph overview of the theories related to your topic. This should include at least one in-text citation. 
3. One brief paragraph about how your topic relates to the goals of your academic program. 
4. One brief paragraph about the methodology and study design you believe you will use with the topic after reviewing the approved designs in the appendix of the doctoral research handbook. This paragraph should also include how you plan to collect data on this topic.
