[Solved] Printed Sources Like Books

[Solved] Printed Sources Like Books

The Yellow Wallpaper, Charlotte Perkins Gilman

To work for this essay thoroughly read and annotate the story , looking for important quotes that help you understand the theme or big idea of the story.

Write a thesis and begin researching for sources. Use the “Steps to Analyzing Short Stories” document for help. Your sources have to come from the library databases or from actual, printed sources like books or journals. I recommend you start by looking in the database called Bloom’s Literature, Jstor or Literature Resource Center. No other sources than sources found in the databases or from books will be acceptable” Because it is a recent story, fewer sources are available, you can use sources outside of the databases

[Solved] Educational Attainment Affects Family

[Solved] Educational Attainment Affects Family

Create and post a crosstab of your variables and a measures of association table.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Post a brief explanation of your topic. Include your research question and a broad research hypothesis — that is, the relationship of IV to DV. (For example, educational attainment affects family income in US adults.)
  2. Run a crosstab on your variables.  Be sure to explain your findings, including a description of the table, a calculation of the epsilons, and a discussion of the 10% rule.
  3. Run the correct measure of association for your variables (Choose one – either Pearson R, Gamma, Phi, Cramer’s V or Lambda). Explain what the output means in terms of strength and direction of the relationship. Interpret Proportional Reduction of Error (PRE) using the following statement: Knowing the IV will reduce error in predicting the DV by *%.

Copy the crosstab and measure of association table into the discussion window or into a document (PDF, MS Word) and attach to discussion. If your table does not fit to the page, choose “copy special” and then “images” or take a screen shot of the table to copy/past into the window.

As a reminder, here are the guidelines for choosing your measure of association:

  1. Both DV and IV are nominal variables: Lambda (when it is not a 2X2 table)
  2. Both DV and IV are nominal variables and it is a 2X2 table: Phi
  3. Both DV and IV are ordinal variables: Gamma
  4. One variable ordinal or interval/ratio AND the other variable dichotomous nominal (like Yes/No, male/female, etc.): Gamma
  5. One variable ordinal or interval/ratio AND the other variable nominal (not dichotomous, has more than 2 categories): Cramer’s V.
  6. Both DV and IV are I/R variables: Pearson’s r

[Solved] Least 4 Journal Articles

[Solved] Least 4 Journal Articles

Imagine that you are asked by a high school student to explain how sociology would account for a current social problem (bullying, gun violence, same sex marriage, depression, etc.) The purpose of this assignment is to select and describe a social problem for your final project and start looking for sources: Within 4-6 pages you will include the following in your proposal (introduction for your project). Please incorporate at least 4 journal articles no more than three years old.

Background – include and identify at least one of the major social theories (one to two pages)

The purpose of this assignment (research proposal), is to provoke the interest of the reader. It is also to convince the reader the importance and relevance of the topic. In the opening paragraphs, you want to make sure you introduce the reader to the particular question(s) your thesis is seeking to answer. What are you trying to discover or undercover? The introduction is not merely a summary of points to be elaborated on in later sections. Rather, your objective here is to inform the reader of the question(s), why it is important, and how your thesis will provide an answer.

Background: It may be necessary to provide the reader with some measure of background information relevant to the topic. This is particularly useful when your work is interdisciplinary, in which case it is even more likely that the reader will benefit from a section that contextualizes the question and supplies the history (30-50 years) and terminology so that the reader will be better able to follow the pages. Write it as if the reader is not familiar with the topic or issue. This leads you into the review of literature and research. 1-2 pages

Statement of the Problem, why it is important to study, and the Purpose of the study. (at least 2.5 pages)

What is the social problem? Why should we a society study this problem? What is the purpose of this study/research paper?

Research Questions – Here you are answering “What are you trying to discover or uncover.” (3-5 questions).

[Solved] Describe 2 Lifestyle Changes

[Solved] Describe 2 Lifestyle Changes

As my study buddy walked into the room to prepare for the AP test tomorrow, I opened the chapter titled, “Immune System” to review with her.

Me: “I was just researching autoimmune disease online to find some definitions for our test tomorrow and I found an article about how stress can be a major factor in causing autoimmune diseases and cancer. I was very surprised!”

My Study Buddy: “Really?  It is interesting to notice that most of these autoimmune diseases and cancers have been linked to stress in our daily lives. Stress causes an increase in the cortisol in the blood, which reduces the white blood cell count and makes us vulnerable to any damage to our cells, which may lead to cancer, autoimmune disease or infection. I am sure if we would take care of our emotional wellbeing, we would automatically take care of our physical health.”

View the short video below about the effects of stress on the immune system.  Once you watch this short video complete the discussion for this week following the instructions STEP 2.Stress is not good for your immune system

2. Initial Post: Create a new thread and answer all three parts of the initial prompt below

  1. Explain why you agree or disagree that emotional health can affect our physical health.
  2. Provide one example of how stress can affect our health.
  3. Describe 2 lifestyle changes that could reduce the stress in our lives.
