Write a summary of the Introduction to Section III.  Follow APA guidelines.  You only need to cite the textbook.  

Write a 2-3 page summary following APA guidelines. Your Turnitin score MUST by 30% or lower.  You will not receive a grade for the assignment if you do not meet this guideline.  Here are the requirements for the summary:

1. title page 

2.  double-spaced WITHOUT the extra space between paragraphs. (I will count this as an error.  Fix it in your line spacing setting.)

3.  12 pt. font size only.

4.  Times New Roman or Ariel font only.

5.  1-inch margins top, bottom, right, left.

5.  Make sure you cover the major topics that are discussed in the chapter.

Grading is as follows:

1 point deducted for every 3 APA errors

1 point deducted for every spelling/grammar error

2 points deducted for each missing content requirement

Once your summary is graded, that is the grade you will keep for it.

After studying the assigned readings for week 5, synthesize what you have learned by completing the following in essay format. Search online and find a website for an organization that has a campaign promoting a core issue that interests you (for example: The Red Cross and need for blood donations. NOTE: You may not use the example assignment just named here.).

Start your essay with a short overview of the organization and the issue (just a few lines) and then consider the topics we have covered in this week’s readings and discuss how they are reflected in what you see on this website.

What audiences is the institution trying to reach?

How has technology affected the way this organization presents itself?

Consider issues of Media Ethics and how they are represented or manifested in the website. Draw on examples offered on that website to support your observations. Specifically consider the content of 21st Century Communication: A Reference Handbook: Chapter 77: “Theories and Effects of Public Relations,” under the section “Assumptions and Lay Theories.” Which of these theories does the content of your chosen site most closely align with? Why? Explain your answer.

The essay should be in 12pt type, no more than 2 pages in length, double-spaced. Approximately 500-600 words, and properly cited throughout the paper in APA format, and must contain an APA-style reference list. Support your responses with research from the Learning Resources (make sure Turnitin Score is 20% or below for all assignments; otherwise revisions will have to be made before grading).

A.    The NASW Code of Ethics provides guidance and best practice methods for social workers to adhere to and practice within, what would are the six core values of the NASW Code of Ethics and explain the implications for practice for each.

B.    The importance of recognizing the dignity and worth of each person when you’re working with clients. This may seem like an obvious value, but it can be difficult to uphold under certain circumstances. Are there certain clients that would be difficult for you to view with dignity and respect, to see as worthwhile? What would happen if you found yourself working with such a client?

C.    After reading and discussing the NASW Code of Ethics, learning about Ethical dilemmas please discuss the two and how an ethical dilemma could potentially impede practice. Be sure to use examples as provided in the readings. 

D.    A student expresses a conflict between the way the client sees her (as a friend) and the way the student sees the client (as a service user). Why would it be unethical for a social worker to see a client as a friend rather than a service user?

Assignment Title: Exploring Human Behavior in Infancy: Interviewing Parents

Objective: The purpose of this assignment is to gain insight into the complex dynamics of human behavior during infancy by interviewing a parent or guardian who has a child. Through this interview, you will have the opportunity to explore the challenges, joys, and factors that influence human behavior in the early stages of life.

Instructions:

1.     Identify an Interviewee: Reach out to a parent or guardian who has a child, preferably an infant or a child in their early years (0-3 years old). Ensure that the interviewee is willing to participate in the interview.

2.     Conduct the Interview: Schedule a time to meet with your chosen interviewee. You can conduct the interview in person, over the phone, or through video conferencing, depending on your and your interviewee’s preferences.

3.     Prepare Three Main Questions: During the interview, ask the interviewee the following three main questions to gain insight into human behavior in infancy. Feel free to ask follow-up questions for clarification and to dig deeper into their responses.

a. Question 1: What are some of the most significant changes you have observed in your child’s behavior from infancy to their current age (0-3 years old)? How do you think external factors (e.g., family, environment) have influenced these changes?

b. Question 2: Can you describe a specific challenge or milestone in your child’s early development that you found particularly interesting or surprising in terms of their behavior? How did you and your family adapt to support your child during this time?

c. Question 3: In your opinion, what role does the parent-child relationship play in shaping a child’s behavior during infancy? Can you share any strategies or experiences that have helped foster a positive and healthy parent-child bond?

4.     Reflect on the Interview: After the interview, take some time to reflect on the insights gained from your interviewee’s responses. Consider how these experiences and observations align with theories and concepts related to human behavior in infancy that you have learned in this course.

5.     Submit Your Assignment: Write a brief summary (approximately 1-2 pages) of your interview experience, highlighting the key points from your interviewee’s responses. Reflect on how this interview has enhanced your understanding of human behavior in infancy and relate it to the course material.

• I would personally recommend staying away from research articles that have these words in the title “systematic review” or “meta-analysis.” These are certainly peer-reviewed articles but they often summarize lots of different and individual research studies and it can be really difficult to summarize and critique the review for the purpose of this assignment.
• When you are looking for articles, make sure that you find one that addresses clinical issues when working with this population. A simple search of substance abuse and your population may not render the articles you need. Make sure to use terms such as “counseling,” “clinical,” or “therapeutic,” and review your article to ensure that you will write about substance abuse counseling considerations.

• Here are some more specific details about how to write an annotation using a specific article in the substance abuse counseling field. It is from 2007, so it is too old to fit criteria and a recent article. Furthermore, it is not about a specific population, which I have also asked you to investigate.
• Be VERY careful of plagiarism. Any assignments that are too similar to the original article/plagiarized will not be accepted.
