School Safety – Part A: Crisis Response (NELP 6.1)

Begin the assessment by reading through the safety scenario, Parts A, B, and C, and carefully review the assessment rubric.  Familiarize yourself with the resources provided in the Resource section below. You may refer to the resources in your assessment response. Write a narrative response (two to four double-spaced pages per assessment Part using the current APA format with a minimum of four resources in total utilized for citations) answering the questions associated with Parts A, B, and C of the assessment using your knowledge of NELP Standard 6 and the standard components 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 and the associated PSEL standard 9, specifically 9a, 9d, and 9h. Your response should include research references of effective practices in the area of school safety and management and should demonstrate understanding and application of NELP standard components 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3 and PSEL standard 9, specifically 9a, 9d, and 9h.

Scenario – School Bus Crash (Part A)

You are a principal of a public middle school in rural Mississippi. It is 3:30 pm on a Thursday in February.  School released at 3:05 pm and freezing rain began falling at 3:20 pm.  

The district’s central office administrative assistant just called and said she just received a report that Bus #10 has been involved in a crash.  Initial reports indicate the bus slid off the road into the ditch, then overturned.  She reminded you the superintendent went with the high school principal to a state training and is not answering her phone.

Questions:

1. What are the three most important immediate considerations?
2. What responding agencies and/or parties need to be contacted? Why?
3. How will you interact with these responding agencies?

Core Objective Journal: Olaudah EquianoRefer to our Of the People textbook, at the end of chapter 5, beginning on page S5-4. The Case Study

Each student will be assigned one of twelve cases found on page 231, of the text, and will be expected to

submit a 5-8-page written Case Study due in Unit Seven. While there is no specific format for the

Case Study, each paper should:

(1) Identify all the pertinent issues that management needs to address;

(2) perform whatever analysis and evaluation are appropriate;

 (3) propose an action plan and set of recommendations addressing the issues identified in (1); and

(4) include the application of biblical principles to the analysis. Helpful aids are available in the Case-Tutor file via the publisher’s Online

Unit 6: Writing Assignment 

Part I

• Answer the following questions and submit as a Word file or a spreadsheet.
• List the four major financial statements and describe their major components. Which statements are intended for internal audiences? External audiences?
• What are the four classifications of ratios and what do they measure?
• List and describe the principles for preparing good reports, including annual reports.
• Why must the business of healthcare keep in touch with the human side of healing?
• Complete the Ratio Analysis self-quiz problem found at the end of Chapter 3 (p. 73-74 in textbook). Show all work.

Advocacy is one of the eight Areas of Responsibility of Health Educators. There are multiple components of successful advocacy, one of which is the ability to develop persuasive messages and materials in order to help bring about policy and systemic changes. Everyone has the right to advocate. As a future public health practitioner and health educator, you are in a unique role to better understand the issues affecting health in your community. to learn more about why your voice can help bring about necessary changes so we are able to improve health outcomes for all, but most importantly, close health disparities and help the most vulnerable among us. 

Select a child & adolescent health issue that you want to focus on. Find your local or US legislator’s name and address. Read what committees they serve on and what past legislation relevant to your topic they have written or co-sponsored. Select one policy or piece of legislation related to your topic on the community, state, or federal level (preferably at the local or state level).

You will write a letter to your legislator expressing support or encouraging them to vote against the proposed legislation/policy. In this letter, you will include the rationale for your viewpoint. Follow a similar structure. Address your legislator, identify yourself, present the facts, and state clearly what you want/what you’re advocating for. Make sure the message is clear, concise, and compelling. Frame the message to answer the question, “So what?”. And present yourself as an expert resource and provide examples from your community.

You must include at least 3 academic references to support your work. Your letter should be between 1-1.5 pages long. I’m looking for a well-written, factual, and persuasive letter.
