[Solved] Away ” Taking Sudafed

[Solved] Away ” Taking Sudafed

A 40 year old female presents with complaint of a headache for one week. Reports a “head cold” 3 weeks ago.  Thought it was getting better, but sinus symptoms are back and even worse.

Describes the headache is located across her forehead; feels like pressure behind my eyes and unable to breathe out of nose. Also feels mucus running down the back of throat.  Pain sometimes severe (8/10) but with acetaminophen reduces to moderate (4/10) and occasionally mild (2/10).  Occasional nonproductive cough.  Feels feverish at times; noted frequent sneezing and no appetite. Bending over seems to make the headache worse.  “Acetaminophen improves my headache, but doesn’t take it away.” Taking Sudafed HCL 120 mg every 12 hours, with some relief. Symptoms are worse in the morning – awakes with a headache. Ranges from 2/10 at its best to 8/10. Difficulty with concentrating at job and feels very tired.

Reflection: write 1-2 paragraphs reflecting on your learning for the week. Guiding questions are provided or you may write about what you felt was most significant to you for the week.

You will need to post your reflection here before you are able to see other students’ posts.

  • Nearly every student in the course was able to think of a time when they had personally been impacted by or had observed incivility in the workplace. In what ways does this impact your view of the nursing profession?
  • If those outside of healthcare were aware, how might it impact their view?
  • As you move towards your role as an NP, what will you do to support healthful work environments for yourself and your colleagues?
  • Think about your personal use of social media. Are there changes you would like to make in how you use social media?
  • What self-care practices do you engage in to promote personal holistic health?

[Solved] Conducted Regarding Participants

[Solved] Conducted Regarding Participants

Great job this week! Bordens and Abbott (2022) explain that concerns with integrity of research data and fraudulent or fallsified information is carefully handled by the U.S. Office of Research Integrity (ORI). While the IRB is concerned with the ethical treatment of participants, the screen for research does not involve the particular data, but rather a proposal of how the research will be conducted regarding participants. Do you think that having separate entities to handle each of these concerns is a good thing?

Great job!

[Solved] Autism Study Create Harmful

[Solved] Autism Study Create Harmful

Terrific job on this week’s discussion! You described the role of the IRB very well and noted all the important things they do to make sure the research being done is ethical, safe, and accurate. Also, I feel if the IRB had been around for decades, then studies like Little Albert, Stanford Prison Experiment, etc. would have had chances to show more accurate information from their studies. How did you feel when you watched the Little Albert video? I agree that cases like the MMR vaccine and autism study create harmful real-world consequences because they create unwanted fear and damage the reputation of the scientific community.

[Solved] New Company Called “

[Solved] New Company Called “

In 2013, Google announced that it was forming a new company called “Calico,” with the goal of coming up with new ways to extend life and combat the deleterious effects of aging. Read the article on this company and possible approaches at the CNN website.

Imagine that average life expectancy rises to say, 140 years, and that the added years are healthy and vigorous for most people. For the Discussion, consider the effects that this life extension would have on individuals and society.

Answer the following questions for the Discussion:

  1. How would this change in longevity affect individuals and their relationships? Would marriages be able to last 110 to 120 years? Or would divorce become even more common, with people re-marrying and having multiple sets of children during their lives? Explain your thinking.
  2. How would an increase in longevity affect education and careers? For many years, workers expected to stay at the same company throughout their careers. Over the last couple decades that has changed, with people changing careers more than once in their lives, either out of interest or necessity. What if the average person could expect to have a work-life that lasted 90 or 100 years? Does it make sense to go to college once in life? To have only one or two careers? Explain your thinking.
  3. How would society change? For example, if people retired at 110 years rather than at 70 years, how would this affect the number of jobs for new workers just coming out of high school or college? If people live longer, would that prevent younger people from rising in careers and professions? For example, if professional athletes could remain competitive into their sixties, would it make sense for any young person to try to become a professional athlete?
