View the video of the lesson you have chosen, and respond to the following items.

• Identify the instructional models exhibited by the teacher during instruction, and provide examples that validates this assumption. • From your vantage point, determine the teacher’s ability to engage students throughout the lesson. Were the students engaged, attentive, and having fun learning or were there areas that the teacher could have improved upon to make the lesson more engaging?
• Describe up to three things you liked about the lesson.
• Recommend one thing you would have done differently than the teacher in the video and why. If you would not change anything, justify why you think the lesson should remain as it is.

Create a PowerPoint with a slide for each of the items above (see below for instructions on how to create each slide).

• You will use the 7×7 rule to create your presentation. The 7×7 rule states that you use no more than seven bullet points per slide and no more than seven words per bullet point. This way your visual presentation will only show the main points on each slide without overwhelming your viewers without too many words. You still need to make your slides attractive by adding images and colors to make it attractive.
• Add your voice to fill in the gaps between the main points on your slides. Limit your narration to five minutes or less. Use your narration to explain each of your answers. More importantly, use it as an opportunity to share your passion about what you liked in the lesson and how you might modify the lesson to better engage students and make the learning experience fun. 1. I am currently employed by the United States Postal Service. Being employed by a federal agency that was created to serve the public, we define ethics by being a respected part of the communities we serve. The USPS was drafted in the Constitution and a service to the public. Postal workers are the only federal agency that gets seen by the public on a daily basis. For that reason, we have a reputation to uphold and can’t lose the respect the public has for us. According to the who we are section on the Postal Service website our statement of ethics says, ” The Postal Service is committed to maintaining its reputation as the most trusted government entity through principled decision-making and strong ethical values. All postal employees are required to place loyalty to the Constitution, the laws, and ethical principles above private gain”.
2. The way USPS defines ethics relates to Fiddler & Marienau’s reflective learning theory, as postal employees we are held to a certain standard and must ensure we are a positively representing the Constitution and positively reflecting our agency. We have to constantly examine our beliefs and responses to be positively reflect the postal brand. When we are in uniform, we are public servants and must think about that before acting. We have to think of how we are representing the agency. If not, the public will lose respect for the agency that is respected by many.

 In this assignment, you are to look for an example of a Cause Related Marketing initiative being employed by your chosen global hospitality company.  Please do not use an initiative that we have already discussed in the Module.  Research and find one if you can from your company.  Look at some of the same locations as you did when you researched for your Case Study (it may even be in your case study!).  If you don’t find an example for your company, look at your competitors and borrow theirs.  Then, complete the following worksheet.  Save the file as CRM Assignment _ Last Name _ First Name.  Save the file as a .doc or .docx file only.  Once you are done, submit the assignment via the link in Canvas.  Everything must be submitted by Sunday at 11:59PM EST/EDT.  DON’T FORGET YOU CAN USE THIS FOR YOUR CSR INITIATIVE IF YOU LIKE! 

According to your textbook, a company should choose a Corporate Cause Promotion under the following six circumstances:

• when a company has easy access to the target markets
• when the cause can be connected and sustained by the company’s products
• when the opportunity exists to contribute underutilized in-kind services
• when employee involvement will get them excited to support the cause
• when a company wants to limit its involvement and commitment to raising awareness
• when there is a co-branding opportunity

Let’s consider some of the social issues we are learning about in light of this new lesson on CCP.  Watch the following Hyatt Hotels short video that promotes its connection with the cause Clean the World Foundation and their cooperation to impact the global social issue of a health disparity due to poor hygiene. The video is a few years old so the numbers will certainly have increased a lot since then but they are impressive nonetheless.

Would you say that the cause can be connected and sustained by the company’s products (in this case the slightly-used soap and shampoo room amenities from their hotels are more of a by-product)?   

Your activity for this week is to find a current example of a Corporate Cause Promotion for THREE of the six different circumstances listed above (and you can’t reuse the Hyatt example in case you were thinking of that!). First, look for examples from the global hospitality and tourism corporation or a competitor that you selected for your Case Study and CSR Initiative.  Whatever you find can be used in your plan later in the semester so COPY AND PASTE it in a folder for that purpose.  If you don’t find something for your specific corporation then next go to your competitors (which you also mentioned in your Case Study). I’m mainly concerned that you get these concepts no matter what company you find is employing them in their CSR. 

You can find one online, or maybe take a picture of an advertisement in a magazine or newspaper, or perhaps you’ll see a poster/sign/tent card in a store window, in a restaurant, etc. The important thing is to find a DIFFERENT EXAMPLE for THREE of the six circumstances listed. Some of the examples (like the Hyatt example) may fit more than one circumstance, but you need to find a different example for each circumstance to show me that you understand each one.
