[Solved] Aacn Using Nontraditional

The RN to BSN program at Grand Canyon University meets the requirements for clinical competencies as defined by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), using nontraditional experiences for practicing nurses. These experiences come in the form of direct and indirect care experiences in which licensed nursing students engage in learning within the context of their hospital organization, specific care discipline, and local communities.

Note: This is an individual assignment. In 1,500-2,000 words, describe the teaching experience and discuss your observations. The written portion of this assignment should include:

  1. Summary of teaching plan
  2. Epidemiological rationale for topic
  3. Evaluation of teaching experience
  4. Community response to teaching
  5. Areas of strengths and areas of improvement

You are required to cite a minimum of three sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years, appropriate for the assignment criteria, and relevant to nursing practice.

[Solved] Possible Ethical Considerations Given

[Solved] Possible Ethical Considerations Given

In this week’s Workshop, visit your previous workshop and post responses to the following:

  • What is the current version of your research question?
  • Reflect on the choice of interviewing as the data collection method for addressing your proposed study. Why might you choose interviewing over other qualitative data collection techniques (e.g., focus groups, observational data collection)?
  • Consider the kinds of questions you would like to ask. Are they personal? Embarrassing? Might they put your participants at risk? Provide some examples of the kinds of questions you would like to ask.
  • Identify one or more possible ethical considerations given the types of questions you would like to ask. For example, if you are asking someone to reflect on his or her experience as a drug addict, perhaps that person will reveal stories about hurting loved ones or breaking the law. How might you handle this?

[Solved] Heart Assist System W

[Solved] Heart Assist System W

For a healthcare professional, the review of data is unavoidable and it is imperative to not only identify types of data, but also to know how the data can be measured (through using variables parts of the data as key variables). There are four scales of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.

In addition, the use of statistical analysis is vital. While statistical analysis can range from simple to complex, the most fundamental elements of statistical analysis are based upon mean, median, mode, and standard deviation.

Using the link below, access and download the DRG Summary for Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment Hospitals (data) provided by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services:

https://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/Statistics-Trends-and-Reports/Medicare-Provider-Charge-Data/Downloads/Inpatient_Data_2015_XLSX.zip

This is a two-part assignment.

Part 1:

In 1 page, complete the following:

  1. Define and explain the 4 main types of scales variables can be measured on: (1) nominal; (2) ordinal, (3) interval, and (4) ratio scales.
  2. Using the chart below or creating your own, identify each of the 12 columns on the spreadsheet as nominal, ordinal, or interval/ratio data.

Part 2:

In 1-2 pages, complete the following:

  1. Define and explain the differences among mean, median, mode, and standard deviation.
  2. Using the excel data, sort Column A, DRG Definition, to only show “001 – HEART TRANSPLANT OR IMPLANT OF HEART ASSIST SYSTEM W MCC” records.
  1. Explain what each calculation means in terms of the data presented. (Note: The data is DRG Summary data for Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment Hospitals for 2015. You will need to explicitly explain the calculation findings based on the dependent variable, heart transplants and/or implant of heart assistance system. An example of such an explanation would consist of the following, “I found a mean of 37 for DRG 007 – Lung Transplant. This data shows that on average in 2015, 22 Medicare patients were discharged for lung transplants.”

[Solved] Describe Two Ways Individuals

[Solved] Describe Two Ways Individuals

Imagine you are suffering from mental illness in the 1800s: You find yourself in a dank basement of a hospital, surrounded by other people in the same situation—some of them quite debilitated. They are only barely clothed, despite the cold conditions. Occasionally, members of the community come to stare at you, as if you are an animal in a zoo.

Today, such scenes are considered unthinkable. Mental health treatment is viewed as part of the holistic care of an individual, and there are laws regulating consent and appropriate treatment conditions. In the 1800s, however, such laws did not exist. A contemporary of the time, advocate Dorothea Dix, aimed to better conditions by petitioning the federal government for more funding.

In this Discussion, you compare mental health treatment in the time of Dorothea Dix to current treatment.

  • Describe two ways individuals living with a mental illness in the mid- to late-1800s were treated.
  • Identify a mental health program that exists in society today. Explain the mission and population served.
  • Compare the contemporary program’s perspective on mental health to that of the Dorothea Dix era.

    • Present an argument for your stance with respect to the first controversial issue regarding substance-related disorders: Is it possible for individuals with substance-related disorders, such as those who abuse alcohol, to moderate their use instead of taking the abstinence approach to treatment? Support your argument with evidence from this week’s required Learning Resources.
    • Present an argument for your stance with respect to the second controversial issue—namely, is a substance-related disorder a disease? Again, support your argument with evidence from this week’s required Learning Resources.
