[Solved] Rising “ Communist Threat

[Solved] Rising “ Communist Threat

6 pages on below prompt with work cited at the end.

At a time when the U.S. enjoyed overwhelming economic and military power and security globally this period still managed to become best known for its widespread fear bordering on panic regarding the rising “communist threat.”  Kinzer’s description and analysis of U.S. policy toward Iran. What did U.S. policy in Iran,  accomplish toward Paul Nitze’s ends he describes in NSC-68?  What was the role of the CIA and the Department of Defense?  What was U.S. foreign policy always simply “reacting” to Soviet aggression (or to Soviet “will” in Nitze’s words) on the world stage?  What were some of the problems with using “anti-communism” as the central organizing principle for U.S. foreign policy?  What is U.S. “imperialism?”  Does the end justify the means?  And why is there sometimes a dramatic disconnect between the publicly stated goals from U.S. foreign policy elites and the actual policies themselves?  (What “values” (if any) did the United States share with the regimes headed by Shah Reza Pahlavi, Castillo Armas, Papa Doc Duvalier, Mobutu Sese Seko, Fulgencio Batista, and Augusto Pinochet?)

[Solved] Netflix Miniseries Like Making

[Solved] Netflix Miniseries Like Making

Whether or not you have a vested interest in the Public Safety profession, you have probably found yourself, at one point or another, engrossed by a particularly-lurid episode of Dateline or delighted by the edge-of-your-seat excitement in Netflix miniseries like Making a Murderer or When They See Us. This current trend of movies, television series, and podcasts based around real-life murderers and convictions has been dubbed the “true crime boom.” In CrimeReads‘s “True Crime Advice” column, author Tori Telfer explores this recent rash of programming that focuses on the darker sides of our society. Read “Is the ‘True Crime Boom’ a Real Thing?Links to an external site.,” and then respond to the questions below to weigh in on the benefits and drawbacks of this “deathly” obsession. (Note: You do not need to read the author’s response to the following question about JonBenét Ramsey.)

  • Tori Telfer argues that America’s current obsession with true crime actually isn’t so new. What is one specific example that she provides to reinforce her claim that these interests and stories have been present in our society much earlier?
  • The author also claims that, in our everyday lives, we all exhibit a morbid curiosity about death and murder. What are some of the small ways, mentioned by the author, that we show this strange interest? (Consider the section that begins, “This is why pearl-clutching articles about the ‘true crime boom’ annoy me so much.”) Can you think of any other daily behaviors or attitudes that display our predilection for topics such as serial killers and wrongful convictions?
  • Telfer continues by arguing that current changes in media have also influenced this “boom.” What types of modern technologies, according to the author, have promoted the growth of true crime programming? Who specifically does the writer hold accountable for this production increase (i.e., the consumer or the creators)? Do you agree with her? Why or why not?
  • Lastly, do you watch true crime? Why or why not? Whether or not you enjoy these shows, explain why you think that America loves to hear about these disturbing tales.

Please answer the following questions in a MLA format document and remember to not exceed of 250 words. Minimum and maximum of 250 WORDS.

Week 2 Discussion: Evaluating Sources

In academic writing, it is essential to use sources that are not only relevant but also credible. To determine a source’s credibility, you should consider such inter-related factors as: the medium, the author, the publisher, the purpose, the date, citations, language, and presentation. More information can be found at the Northeastern Library (Links to an external site.) or hereLinks to an external site..
 (Links to an external site.)

For this discussion board, evaluate this source here (Links to an external site.) and, using these factors, determine if it would be an appropriate source to cite in an assignment about plagiarism among international students. Note: You may find that the source is NOT acceptable, and that’s fine.

In your first paragraph, write a one-paragraph (approximately 200-word) summary of the text you evaluated using APA citations as necessary.

In a second paragraph, explain why this is or isn’t an appropriate source. What are its strengths? What are its weaknesses? Provide a brief evaluation of the source using each of the CRAAP test questionsLinks to an external site. – why did it pass? Please list all components and address the questions.

In a third paragraph, share your personal reaction to the article. Do you agree or disagree with its claims? What have you learned about academic integrity in the United States that has surprised or challenged you?

Finally, post a question to your classmates about the process you just engaged in.

From this point on, you must integrate at least one credible outside source in every Discussion Board post to support your argument unless otherwise noted. Include in-text citations and a full reference list.

Week 3 Discussion:

Please review the presentation about reading strategically Strategic reading.pptx  Download Strategic reading.pptxand Annotating.pptx Download Annotating.pptx.

Write 250 words

Read the article “Good Leadership Is About Asking Good Questions” (Hagel III, 2021) and annotate it. Your annotations will be graded based on whether you added the following:

  • 2-3 Reflective comment (RC) – this type of comment shows your understanding of the ideas in the text in relation to real-life experiences or to other readings in the course.
  • 2-3 Critical comment (CC) – a critical comment may point out a weakness in the authors’ argument, lack of support or information, or even mention an idea that the authors have not considered in their article.
  • 2-3 Critical question (CQ) – simply asking “What does this mean?” is not enough. You should think critically about the content you are reading and ask questions related to logic, credibility, reliability, implications, etc. For example, “Why did the authors interview both males and females but didn’t discuss gender differences in the conclusion section?”

When annotating, please use acronyms (RC, CC, CQ) to indicate what kind of comment you are making.

Post 2 discussion questions should in the reply box thatt:

  1. Demonstrate some understanding of the reading
  2. Advance the discussion about the reading in an interesting way

Post a copy of the annotated article and 2 discussion questions.

[Solved] Important Step Towards Translating

[Solved] Important Step Towards Translating

Normalization is an important step towards translating models and diagrams into relational databases. In this exercise, you will need to normalize the Grade_Report table below and explain the steps needed to do so.

For this assessment, consider the following entity and its attributes and normalize the entity Grade_Report to 3NF.

Entity: Grade_Report (StudentID, StudentName, Phone, DOB, Address, Email_Address, CourseNumber, CourseName, Grade, DepartmentID, DepartmentName)

Explain the steps needed to normalize this entity to 1NF, 2NF and 3NF. List the resultant Normalized entities in the same format as the original Grade_Report.

Once the entity is normalized to 3NF, describe any issues this entity might have that can be solved by normalization. Explain the functional dependencies that exist between the attributes. Provide the steps required to break up the Grade_Report entity into multiple entities that each have a single theme.

Analyze and apply critical thinking skills in the psychopathology of mental health patients and provide treatment and health promotion while applying evidence-based research.Scenario:

Jax is a 66-year-old Caucasian female whose wife has encouraged her to seek treatment. She has never been in therapy before, and has no history of depression or anxiety. However, her alcohol use has recently been getting in the way of her marriage, and interfering with her newly-retired life. She describes drinking increasing amounts over the last year, currently consuming approximately a six-pack of beer per day. She notes that this amount “doesn’t give me the same buzz as it used to.” She denies ever experiencing “the shakes” or any other withdrawal symptoms if she skips a day of drinking.

Jax comments that her wife is her biggest motivation to decrease her alcohol use. She tells Jax that she gets argumentative and irritable when she drinks, though she does not always remember these incidents. She has also fallen while intoxicated twice, causing bruises both times and hitting her head on one of the occasions.

Directions: Upload your First “Card” assignment, as explained here (and also in the Orientation module). What are Cards?

Cards are things you write. They could be done on notecards, a sheet of paper, or via a document for online submissions.

In a card, you make ONE (1) philosophical move in reaction to the assigned reading.

So, each card has a page range (pages 1-7 in Aristotle’s Ethics, for instance). You read those pages and then make ONE (1) move.

What’s a Move?

Philosophers do things in arguments, like Challenge, Clarify, and Corroborate.

Challenge

When you challenge something in the reading, you suggest that something the author said is not true. Essentially: tell me why what the author has said is false. When you do this, there are three key points:

  • you CITE
  • you employ CHARITY
  • you use your own words to explain the challenge.

Clarify

When you clarify something, you introduce a distinction that is helpful to the current argument. Essentially, tell me a distinction that is helpful to keep in mind while thinking through this argument. When you do this, you must do three key things:

  • you CITE
  • you employ CHARITYLinks to an external site.
  • you use your own words in explaining what the clarification means and what it will do for the argument.

Corroborate

When you corroborate something, you suggest that something the author has said is true. Essentially, tell me why the author is correct in something they said, providing additional evidence. When you do this, you do the following:

  • You give more evidence for that claim.
  • You CITE the text,
  • You employ CHARITY,
  • You explain in your own words.
