This week you’ll develop a SWOT analysis and identification of strategic issues for the organization you’ve chosen for the term.  Develop a list of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges/threats based on the information you’ve collected and researched (in-text citations and references are required) .For the SWOT analysis, do a separate list under each category (it’s fine to use short phrases rather than complete sentences, if desired).  This information typically comes from your personal experience with the agency if applicable, the internal documents you found in the Week 2 Deep Recon, informational interviews, and external research.   External sources can include things like newspaper articles, think tank reports, government documents, peer-reviewed articles, and more.  

Then, using the SWOT analysis, identify 3 strategic issues the organization needs to address. Refer to your workbook (Worksheet #35, Master Strategic Issue Statement, p. 148) for how to do the write-up on the issue.  NOTE:  Instead of answering all of Question 2 on Worksheet #35, you can address this instead:  Why is this an issue? Why does this issue exist? Is this an issue a strength, weakness, opportunity, or threat? Explain why very briefly.”

Focusing on at least three of the four course themes of religion, government, social class, and gender roles, explain which of the three cultures (the Byzantine Empire, western European kingdoms, and the Islamic Caliphate) between 500 and 950 was the truest heir to the Roman Empire and which one was the most different from the Roman Empire? 

Suggestion for formulating a clear answer: Instead of describing two cultures separately, you should compare all three in terms of at three of the four course themes in order to arrive at your conclusion about which culture was the truest heir to the Roman Empire and which culture was the most different from the Roman Empire. You should first compare them in terms of one of the themes. For example, you could compare them in terms of government to explain which culture had the most in common with the Roman Empire in terms of its government and which one had least common in terms of its government. Then you should do the same for two other themes. Then based on your conclusions about three of the themes, state your conclusion about which culture was the truest heir to the Roman Empire and which one was the most different from the Roman Empire.

 I plan to open up my own business as a pysch NP and help them out in lower class communities 

1. Select a community or marginalized population of interest then 

2. Complete an assessment of the community and the population. Refer to the windshield survey tool in Stanhope & Lancaster’s Community Health Nursing in Canada. 4th Edition as a guide for potential questions to consider. 

3. Through this assessment, identify ONE current need or gap in services (or resources). 

 4.Then create a proposal for a health promotion plan to address this need that is within your scope of practice. The proposal should be approx. 2-3 pages in length, include APA standards.  

Introduction

• Who is your assigned community and/or population?      
• Describe the three core  elements (History, Demographics, Values and Beliefs) of your community      and or population.
• Describe Perception’s  (your populations’ and your own).

Nursing Diagnosis

• Identify a gap, need, or concern at your agency  or within your population. 
• What information supports this? How did you  determine the need? 

Plan

• How do you intend to address the health need of your population? (ie. What is your plan? Write what your plan is in 1-2 sentences.)
• What resources will you need (personnel,  equipment, money, etc.)? 
• What Community Health Nurse standard does your plan correspond with? Why?

Implementation

• How would you deliver the content if no restrictions were in place? (e.g., A lunch and learn, poster presentation, etc) 

Self Reflection

• What do YOU think is one of the most important roles that Community Health Nurses play? 
• How do you believe the health promotion provided will benefit the community or population once complete?

5. Final step, complete the creation of your health promotion activity as if you were a nurse assigned to this community and preparing to deliver the content in a Poster or Power point presentation.
