Each student is expected to write a 4-page paper about their experience. The final copy of the paper should be double-spaced with a cover page and a reference page. Your paper must be written in APA format. Paper must include one (1) inch margins, double spaced, and 12-inch font.

When answering the questions below, remember to cite your sources for the information. You could use the agency website, an interview with a supervisor, or information from the funding program (Medicaid, or a grant for example). Questions that you should think about using a reference for are italicized. All references used should be appropriately cited (in-text and on the reference page) using APA format.

Your title page and reference page does count towards the 4 page requirement. Please do not use I language throughout only on questions   with an * can use I language (ex. I, we, me, us, my/mine, our/ours). Instead of saying, “The agency I volunteered at opened at 8 am.” say “The agency being discussed opens at 8am.” When discussing your personal experiences and opinions, there is no penalty for first person language.

This paper is due 4/30/2023 at 11:59 pm. The paper may include any information you wish, but it must include the following:  

  • Name of agency, location, telephone number, name of person who supervised you, and the dates you volunteered.
  • *What duties you performed during your time at the agency. How do these duties relate to the field of social work.
  • Information concerning agency structure: is it a profit or non-profit organization? How are decisions about the structure and function of the agency made? Are MSW or BSW social workers employed there? If so, what does s/he do? If none are employed, why not? What services does the agency provide? Does the agency have an organizational evaluation process? Where does the agency fall on the cultural competency continuum? Does the agency conduct research? If so, what, and how is it used? What kinds of clients are served by the agency: age range, gender, ethnic background, and needs of the clients? What additional services might the agency provide? This week is dedicated to Time-Series Forecasting techniques. Start in the Lessons section of the classroom by completing the reading and viewing assignments. Don’t even think about trying to complete this homework assignment without understanding the concepts involved in Forecasting Time-Series data. Once you have the concepts down in chapter 5, and have completed the Discussion forum, you are ready to start this assignment. Download the Excel Template attached to this assignment onto your computer, open it up, and read through the “Red Snapper Scenario” at the top of the page. All of this week’s assignments focuses on historical Red Snapper Catches for 2015 through 2018 (by Quarter) off the coast of Louisiana. The last four rows of the table are empty as 2019 is what you are going to forecast using the historical data for 2015 through 2018. As you scroll down through the Spreadsheet, you will notice in the far left column, there are five tasks for you to complete this week. Every one of these tasks is mirrored in the three YouTube videos below. Although this project is about Red Snapper Catches (your faithful designer’s favorite fish to catch and eat out of the southern bays of Louisiana) and the videos forecast Car sales, the process for forecasting the future year (in our case 2019) is identical.

You will want to watch these videos as you complete each of the five tasks. Where you want to transition from video 1 to video 2 and from video 2 to video 3 is very easy to see. One easy way to get started is to have a video open on one side of your screen and the excel template on the other.

  • It’s important that you complete the reading assignments first before you tackle this assignment.
  • There are several “Tasks” in the workbook; scroll down and make sure you have completed all five of the tasks in this assignment before pushing the send button. Overview

For this assignment, you will create a response to the following memo from your Project Manager:

Please review it and comment on your area, as we know the coming project will be challenging. With everyone’s help, though, I’m sure we can pull this off with a minimum of scope creep. I look forward to hearing from you before the meeting on Tuesday.This project involves moving our current in-house system to a cloud solution. We are not sure yet if we’re going to partner with an outside company to manage the cloud services or if we’re going to just rent space on Google, Amazon, Microsoft, or other cloud services. I’ll expect a recommendation from each of you based on your area of expertise. Do your research and provide me the pros and cons of the option you are recommending. Be sure to share where you got that information, so I can take a look at your reasoning if I have questions. DO NOT just cut and paste what you find, but rather explain the pros and cons in your own words.

Respond in a memo using the Word document template provided. There should be two parts to your response.

Part 1

The first part of your response is based on the research you complete determining whether to go with a company to manage cloud services or to rent space with one of the well-established cloud services. Include the following:

  • A list of the pros and cons of both options. You should have at least two pros and cons for each option. 
  • Your recommendation is supported by your research. 
  • A list of the sources that informed your recommendation. Be sure that these sources are varied and from a variety of relevant perspectives. They should also be credible sources. For example, what Google claims their cloud service will do may not be the experience of a business using their service. In the same way, a small business may have a different experience with the same service a large business uses.
Part 2

The second part is the additions needed to the Gantt chart in your area of expertise. Consider what steps will need to occur in your area in order to make this project possible. Consider also the time it will take to complete each of the subtasks, keeping in mind the overall timeline of the project. Include the following:

  • A list of subtasks that need to be added to your area of the Gantt chart. (For example, if you’re a networking specialist, you’ll need to decide what you’re going to do with the network to support the project. Are you going to hire an outside company to expand your network? Do you have the bandwidth you’ll need now that the system is going to be located in the cloud? How much time do you need to purchase equipment like an additional router or a better firewall?)
  • A breakdown of any equipment that will be needed for each subtask and when it will need to be installed.

Here are some questions to consider for each role as you write your response memo:If you’re the IT Project manager, you’ll need to get recommendations from others on the team and then make your recommendation to the PM. What are the main considerations? You’ll need to research and come up with some options.If you’re the data analyst, do your research and find out what this transition will look like to the users in the company and your company’s clients/customers.If you’re the cybersecurity expert, what concerns do you have, and which methods will you use to secure the network and the cloud solution? What does the partner service provide, and what will we need to do/know in the company, and what training will be needed for users?If you’re a software designer, what interface will you need to create/adopt? How will the software you’re using now change if we relocate to the cloud?If you’re a data manager, how will the database platform change/adapt to the relocation? How will the data be packaged, secured, stored, transported, backed up, etc.?
