[Solved] Selected Social Justice Problem

[Solved] Selected Social Justice Problem

Choose a social justice problem that addresses the needs of a specific population or subgroup that interests you. To find scholarly research about your topics, use the Capella University Library; government, educational, and organizational websites; and the United States Congress website, Congress.gov. Refer to the SWK5002 library research guide, Social Policy Research Tutorial, for assistance in doing policy research and locating resources.

  1. Analyze the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination of your chosen population or subgroup that exist within this social justice topic (for example, race, religion, disabilities, gender orientation, socioeconomic status, or access to services).
    • In your analysis, describe how the oppression and discrimination impacted this population.
  2. Analyze ethical problems associated with your selected social justice problem.
    • Use the NASW Code of Ethics Web page to guide your analysis:
      • What ethical considerations in your selected social justice problem must be addressed?
      • What are implications for social work practice and positive client outcomes?
  3. Describe the current, enacted policies for this social justice problem.
    • Research current, enacted policies that seek to address this social justice problem. These policies must be passed legislation currently in practice. Legislation can be at the federal or state level, but ultimately your course project will require you to select a federal policy.
  4. Analyze how effective these policies are in addressing the needs of your chosen population or subgroup.
    • Do the policies effectively address the social justice problem? Provide a rationale that includes scholarly, peer-reviewed research.
  5. Assess the impact these policies have had on your selected population or subgroup.
    • What policy constraints exist for this population?
  6. Compare advocacy methods for the selected social justice problem.
    • What are the strengths and challenges of the advocacy methods? What additional steps could be taken to address the challenges?

[Solved] Ell Students Whose Parents

[Solved] Ell Students Whose Parents

Ana is one of your ELL students whose parents speak only Spanish and is from a low socioeconomic background. Ana helps to take care of her three younger siblings, daily cooks and cleans for her family in the home, and regularly looks tired in school. She is quiet, well-behaved, and is known to be kind and respectful to teachers and other students. A colleague of yours who also works with Ana in a content area in English has repeatedly told you that she feels so sorry for her. One day, your colleague confesses to you that she wants Ana to “just be a kid” and that she rarely requires any grade-level academic work from her. She admits that she does not want to trouble the parents about Ana’s academics since they work multiple jobs and would not likely be able to help her with schoolwork anyway.

How can you encourage your colleague and serve as a resource in providing appropriate instructional support for Ana?

This assessment directs you to analyze the uses for health data with the purpose of improving health care policies and operations. Raw data doesn’t say much to most people, but through data analysis, information can be extracted and used to “tell the story” of a particular patient population.

Select or generate a dataset that is meaningful to you and your interests in the health care industry by using one of the links below:

Evaluate the dataset and determine how valuable it is for improving health care operations or policies. This will require the creation of a chart or graph to interpret the data.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word report with your evaluation of the dataset and what value can be gained from it. Include the following:

  • The source of the data
  • Why the data is important
  • A detailed chart or graph to interpret the data
  • What trends the data documents
  • What changes in operations or policies can be made to improve quality or efficiency

Cite 3 reputable references to support your report (e.g., trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).

Format your report according to APA guidelines.

Include a copy of the dataset along with your report.

Complete at least one run of the data analytics simulation for Kelsey-White (KW).  You may complete additional runs if you would like.  Be sure to keep good notes and/or take screenshots of your run so you can refer back to them.  Answer the following questions.

  1. How did you do on your best run as determined by total cumulative (4 years) profit (be sure you have the correct number)?  What strategies did you use?  How do you think you can improve?
  2. Were the analytics used descriptive, predictive, and/or prescriptive?  Provide specific examples.  Remember the analytics are what the computer does, not what you do with the data.
  3. Which, if any, machine learning approaches do you think would have provided the most benefit in making your decisions?  Why?
  4. How did social sentiment influence your decision making?  How do you think real consumer products companies (e.g., Proctor and Gamble) should use social data?

[Solved] Considering Launching Another Major

[Solved] Considering Launching Another Major

The objective of the integrated semester is to help you extend your knowledge of how the finance, operations, management, and marketing disciplines work, and how they integrate their functioning in the real world of business. This assignment is an assessment of how well you understand this integration. It is worth 10% of your course grade.

Please read all the instructions carefully before beginning to answer the questions. Contact your instructor if you don’t understand the assignments requirements. The assignment must be submitted as instructed. You will lose points if you fail to follow the instructions or if the submission is formatted incorrectly.

Please make sure to read the two cases about Disney before you answer the below questions. Use either the Bloomberg terminals located at the Feliciano School of Business or other reputable sources such as finance.yahoo.com, morningstar.com or Wall Street Journal etc. for the financial data you use in your answers. You need to provide the references regarding the financial data you use at the end of the finance portion of the term paper.

1. In 2016, Disney opened its latest theme park, the Shanghai Disney Resort. Assume that Disney is considering launching another major theme park in a foreign country. This will be a major capital budgeting project for the firm. An undertaking of this scale requires coordinated planning across all functions of a business that you are studying in your Integrated Core classes. Choose and discuss three items on the income statement that you think that this new undertaking will impact. Explain why you chose those particular items, and how the marketing, management and operations decisions of the company affect these items.

  • 2. The textbook authors discuss a variety of financial ratios, and divide them into five categories. Choose and calculate three financial ratios from three different categories for Disney for the last two years. Make sure to select ratios that you think that opening a new theme park in a foreign country will affect and explain your reasoning. Identify a competitor of Disney and contrast these three ratios for the two companies over the two recent years. Explain why you selected this competitor. Describe how the decisions made by management, marketing and operations functions of the company can effect, and hopefully improve, these financial ratios.
  • 3. Disney is a company with a significant brand value that is closely tied to its family friendly image. Discuss how any violations of business ethics in the company might affect its investors, customers and employees, and ultimately impact the company’s overall financial performance. Provide examples, if you’d like, to support your answer.

Questions: The assignment should be prepared as a Word document, 3-4 pages in length

  • The document should be double-spaced, using Arial font #12.
  • Add any appendices or references at the end of the Word document for each discipline separately.
  • Upload the appropriate Word file through the link on Canvas to each of your Integrated Semester courses separately by the due date (i.e. the Marketing assignment should only be uploaded to your Marketing class).
  • Your reference sources, in addition to the base case and question sets, should be online sites and articles, Bloomberg terminals, your Integrated Semester textbooks, PowerPoint slides, and other sources your professor assigns.
  • Turnitin, a software tool that improves writing and prevents plagiarism, will be used to assess your sourcing of information. Do your own work.
