Write a paper (1,000-1,500 words) in which you apply the concepts of epidemiology and nursing to research a communicable disease. Refer to “Communicable Disease Chain,” “Chain of Infection,” and the CDC websites, located in the topic Resources, for assistance when completing this assignment.

  1. Describe the chosen communicable disease, including causes, symptoms, mode of transmission, complications, treatment, and the demographic of interest (mortality, morbidity, incidence, and prevalence).
  2. Explain why this is a reportable disease. Provide details about reporting criteria. 
  3. Describe the social determinants of health and how those factors contribute to the development of the chosen communicable disease. 
  4. Discuss the epidemiologic triangle as it relates to the communicable disease you have selected. Include the host factors, agent factors (presence or absence), and environmental factors.
  5. Identify any special considerations or notifications for the epidemiologic triangle (community, schools, or general population).
  6. Explain the importance of demographic data to community health.
  7. Describe the role of the community health nurse in primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention through tasks such as case finding, reporting, data collection, analysis, and follow-up. Provide an example of how Christian worldview can be integrated by a community health nurse when working with a population impacted by the communicable disease selected.
  8. Identify at least one national agency or organization that addresses the communicable disease chosen and describe how the organizations contribute to resolving or reducing the impact of disease.
  9. Discuss a global implication of the disease. How is this addressed in other countries or cultures? Is this disease endemic to a particular area? Provide an example.

A minimum of three peer-reviewed or professional references (i.e., professional health organizations like CDC, WHO, OSHA, DHS) is required.

Introduction to Packet Capture and Intrusion Detection Prevention Systems 

You are a network analyst on the fly-away team for the FBI’s cybersecurity sector engagement division. You’ve been deployed several times to financial institutions to examine their networks after cyberattacks, ranging from intrusions and data exfiltration to distributed denial of services to their network supporting customer transaction websites. 

A representative from the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center, FS-ISAC, met with your boss, the chief net defense liaison to the financial services sector, about recent reports of intrusions into the networks of banks and their consortium. 

He’s provided some of the details of the reports in an email. “Millions of files were compromised, and financial officials want to know who entered the networks and what happened to the information. At the same time, the FS-ISAC has seen extensive distributed denial of service disrupting the bank’s networks, impacting the customer websites, and blocking millions of dollars of potential transactions,” his email reads. 

You realize that the impact from these attacks could cause the downfall of many banks and ultimately create a strain on the US economy. In the email, your chief asks you to travel to one of the banks and using your suite of network monitoring and intrusion detection tools, produce two documents—a report to the FBI and FS-ISAC that contains the information you observed on the network and a joint network defense bulletin to all the banks in the FS-ISAC consortium, recommending prevention methods and remediation against the types of malicious traffic activity that they may face or are facing.

  • Read “Special Topic 5: The Great Recession of 2008-2009: Causes and Response” in Macroeconomics: Private and Public Choice (pages 445 to 459).

Review each section below. These sections will provide you with requirements and steps for submitting your project to Waypoint.

 

Requirements

For this assignment, assume the role of an economic advisor to Steve Forbes. Using this week’s required resources as well as at least two additional credible resources, prepare an 8-10 slide audio presentation highlighting the causes and responses to the Great Recession.

To communicate with Mr. Forbes, you will submit an audio PowerPoint with speaker notes that is 8-10 slides.

Specific questions to consider in your presentation:

  • What caused to the Great Recession of 2008-2009? Address any monetary and fiscal policies that played a role before, during, and after the recession.
  • Has the crisis changed the structure of the U.S. economy?
  • Could a similar recession happen in the future, why or why not? Provide supporting facts for your opinions.
  • What economic advice would you offer to steer the economy away from such a deep and long recession?

  • Hypothesize two to three causes of the Great Recession.
  • Analyze the underlining fiscal and monetary policies leading up to, during, and after the Great Recession.

Tableau makes it very simple to examine and analyze large volume of data for me and my coworkers, it enabling me to filter, sort, and aggregate data in a variety of ways, which in turn helps to recognize patterns and trends in my data I am presenting. I can create charts, graphs, and dashboards as well as other dynamic and interactive data representation with Tableau, which then allows me to clearly and interestingly present my findings to others.

Social workers that are apart of CPS (Child Protective Services) get a bad reputation because there are many movies and TV shows that turn on these social workers. They paint the picture that they are heartless and malicious for breaking up families. The reality of the matter is that they are trying to look through every resource in order to help the client and the child be as happy and safe. The work environment of a CPS worker is very strict considering this is not something to mess up with so everyone needs to be on top of it. If someone questioned why I was in CPS I would explain how much the intention behind separating families is to take the child out of a toxic environment. Their minds are so fragile and easily influenced so it is very important to take it seriously and set a good example. Children watch something that someone close to them does and they mimic the behavior because they think it is right.

.) Why I believe that the public is so negative with social workers is because in the media C.P.S workers aren’t spoken of in the best of light. The only stories that you hear about social workers is when a child is placed in the wrong type of foster care or when a child goes missing from child or foster care. Another reason I believe that child workers are looked down upon is because they get a bad name when they approach someone’s home and the investigator tells them that  they are required to  enter that home, that’s a straight violation of their fourth amendment rights. Forcing yourself into someone’s home under false pretenses is wrong and should never happen unfortunately it happens all the time in this field of work. 

Another reason why social work is looked down upon is because some children are placed in home where they are

I believe that we should help the social workers get more media in their community or world wide. We need to let the community understand that there are so many reasons why a child is taken from their home. And if we understood them we wouldn’t be judging. As a CPS worker, the main job is to help guide families to baseline and protect the children. It isnt to harm them all social workers want what’s best for the children and families
