[Solved] Achieving Goal Part 2

[Solved] Achieving Goal Part 2

Part 1:

Spend time reflecting on yourself as an educator. Consider the words and tone you use. Think about your level of comfort in having difficult conversations with students. Reflect on emotions you have experienced as an educator. What student behaviors challenge you to remain being your best version of yourself? Where are your opportunities for improving  your language and disposition?  Consider a presentation describing your reflection process (What did you do to  reflect?), and what you learned about yourself. Then, identify one goal for improving your communication and relate this to creating a safe and supportive environment. Describe specific action steps you will take to  achieve your goal. Consider the following heads to assist

  • Self-Reflection Process and Learning
  • Goal for Improving Communicating with Students
  • Action Steps for Achieving Goal

Part 2

Identify a potential trigger you have seen or experienced in the curriculum. The curriculum you identify maybe a lesson, a unit of study,  a textbook, or other content materials used to teach students. Consider the curriculum material. Explain why you believe this material has the potential to trigger a student who has been exposed to trauma. Identify a proactive strategy the educator can take to mitigate the trigger. Then identify how an educator can respond to a student triggered by the material to create a safe and supportive environment.  Consider the following headings:

  • Potential Trigger(s) in Curriculum
  • Proactive Strategies for Mitigating Trigger(s)
  • Responsive Strategies for Supporting a Triggered Student

[Solved] Assessment Description Culturally Responsive

[Solved] Assessment Description Culturally Responsive

 Assessment Description

Culturally responsive teaching and learning require that educators be informed about the importance of supporting linguistically and culturally diverse students. Educators are accountable for instituting equitable instructional practices that ensure all students have the same opportunity at making a marked degree of success in school.

Imagine you are an ESL or bilingual specialist in a school that has significantly struggled to meet the needs of diverse students. Some of the more vocal school staff have complained about the growing diversity and expressed negative feelings or frustration. You have been asked to present key principles of culturally responsive teaching to school staff to expand their understanding while recognizing their struggles and concerns.

Create a 10-12 slide digital presentation on concepts of culturally responsive education, while considering an audience that may be resistant or even hostile to the information. Using the topic Resources and your own research, include the following in your presentation:

  • Address school staff concerns or resistance by providing a rationale and/or benefits of implementing teaching practices that support diverse students.
  • Compare the major goals, principles, and concepts of the following approaches to teaching and learning that promote equity and diversity for culturally and linguistically diverse students: multicultural education, social justice education, and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Provide 4-5 classroom examples that support the principles of culturally responsive teaching and a positive learning environment.

Support your presentation with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

Presenter’s notes are required for each content slide. Presentation must include a title slide at the beginning, and a reference slide with documentation of resources at the end. The title slide and reference slide are not included in the total number of slides.

Include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.

Assessment Description

Educators are expected to understand and be responsive to the different cultural and linguistic needs of the students in their classrooms. This is particularly important when working with and supporting ELLs and their families. Understanding what may be needed in the classroom, school, and larger community for this support to occur is critical to an educator’s role as an advocate.

Part 1: Mentor Interview and Discussion

Research the demographics for the school setting in which you plan to complete your field experience (e.g., race/ethnicity, languages spoken, ELLs, socioeconomic status). You may use the school’s website or your state’s department/board of education website.

Interview your mentor teacher about the school demographics related to the ELLs and their families in the school and larger community. Include the following in your interview:

  • How is a welcoming and inclusive school environment created for ELL families? How do you extend this to your own classroom?
  • How do the personal, familial, cultural, and social contexts of your ELLs affect their academic and English language learning?
  • How do you learn and familiarize yourself with the cultural identities of the students in your classroom? What practices do you have in place to support the cultural identities of your students?
  • What major concepts, principles, theories, and research related to the nature and role of culture and cultural groups informed how your school constructed learning environments to support cultural identities, language and literacy development, and content area achievement for ELLs? What are some major concepts, principles, theories, and research related to culture do you apply in your classroom?
  • Based on your school demographic research, create and discuss two additional questions or topics with your mentor.

 Part 2: Observation

Observe your mentor for at least two hours or two class periods. You may also spend time observing other teachers the mentor has suggested as role models for working with ELL students. Focus your observations on the learning environment and how it supports ELLs’ cultural identities, language and literacy development, and content area achievement.

Part 3: Reflection

In 250-500 words, reflect on your mentor interview and observation. Address the following in your reflection:

  • What did you learn about constructing learning environments that support ELLs? Include how the learning environment you observed demonstrated major concepts, principles, theories, and research related to the nature and role of culture and cultural groups in supporting ELLs’ cultural identities, language and literacy development, and content area achievement.
  • What practices will you put in place to support the cultural identities represented in your classroom?

[Solved] Even Certain Cars

[Solved] Even Certain Cars

This week, we learned that the interaction of supply and demand determines prices and output levels in markets. Prices and output levels change when either the demand curve or the supply curve shifts. Sometimes price and output both increase and decrease. Sometimes one increases while the other decreases.

  • Consider a situation where the price of a good rises when output increases. For example, lithium is used in rechargeable batteries for computers, phones, other electronic goods, and even certain cars. Demand for lithium was low as recently as the early 2000s. Since then, both the price of lithium and the production of lithium have more than doubled.
  • Start your discussion by responding to these questions:
    • What could explain the simultaneous increases in the price of lithium and the production of lithium? Use supply and demand curves to explain your answer.
    • Hint: Price and equilibrium quantity have both increased. Would a shift in the demand curve or a shift in the supply curve lead to this result?
