Selecting Theme for Report & Accumulation of Sources

After studying Module 6: Lecture Materials & Resources, discuss the following:

As we have journeyed throughout the semester we have focused our studies on identifying major themes and different teachings of the religions of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. We have either directly or indirectly focused on developing a deeper understanding of each religions’ theology, sacred scriptures, code of ethics, prayer and worship rituals, and a brief history of the religion. For the most part, we have looked at each of these religions independently, but now as we begin to wrap up our course we will revisit these religions and begin to examine them critically and ask the intriguing question: What similarities (and differences) do these religions share amongst each other regarding their teachings of a specific topic?

For your final report, you will select a theme, from the list below, and recapitulate each religion’s teaching on that particular theme. You will then complete a comparative analysis on the significant similarities that each religion has with Catholicism specifically – not just Christianity in light of the topic as well as delineate their distinct differences. Once you have completed the comparative analysis, you will reflect on the following question:

  • How can (or how has) the knowledge gleaned in this report and in this course change(d) your perspective/outlook on dialogue with people of other faiths? ‘
    • You can share a personal experience that you have had with someone of a different faith background or how you think having a better understanding of these different teachings will help shape your future interactions with people of different faiths.

Instructions:

  1. Select the theme, from the list below, that you plan on focusing on for the final report.
  2. Identify at least 6 different sources (other than the course text) that you plan on utilizing within your final report.
  • You will need to identify at least 1 different source for each of the 5 religions
  1. For each of the sources, provide the following:
    1. Name of the Source
    2. Website URL to the source
    3. Which religion the source pertains to
      1. Ex: Christianity, Hinduism
        1. If it pertains to more than one you may list them all.

List of Selected Themes:

  • Religion’s Understanding of God
    • The Divine
    • Metaphysical and Supernatural Beings
  • Soteriology
    • How is salvation achieved?
  • Eschatology – End Times
    • Death and the Afterlife
    • Final Judgement

[Solved] Prevention › Risk Factors

This Discussion also has two parts. Please respond to both.

Part 1: Evaluating Web Resources

As regular users of the World Wide Web, both for personal and instructional purposes, we all share a concern over the accuracy of information available on the Internet.  Indeed, one of the Internet’s most powerful and novel features (its ability to provide a world-wide forum for the ideas, opinions and beliefs of anyone with access to a server) can also be one of its biggest liabilities.

Many members of the scientific community have made statements to the effect that scientific information on the Web is often inaccurate, flawed or unreliable.  However, as scientists we are trained to be skeptical of generalizations until we have data to support them.

Many people would argue that a teacher’s most important role is to build/develop a student’s skills in CRITICAL THINKING and CRITICAL READING.  This creates a student who can teach themselves, enabling lifelong learning.

One of the Internet’s potential liabilities (its ability to provide false or inaccurate information at the click of a button) also creates an opportunity to build and reinforce skills in CRITICAL THINKING and CRITICAL READING.

For this week, I want you to do a little web research. Choose a topic, perhaps something like “Smoking and Cancer”. Limit your topics to the sciences. Use your favorite search engine and look at the first several items that come up. For “smoking and cancer” on Google the first item that comes up is a bunch of ads (unfortunately), then this –

Smoking and cancer | Cancer Research UK

www.cancerresearchuk.org/…cancer/…cancer/smoki…

Cancer Research UK

Smoking is the most preventable cause of cancer in the world. Smoking account for more than 1 in 4 UK cancer deaths. Quit smoking and reduce your risk.

How smoking causes cancer – ‎Smoking facts and evidence – ‎Passive smoking

On Bing, I get this, after the ads –

  1. smoking causes cancer – National Cancer Institute
    www.cancer.gov › … › Causes and Prevention › Risk Factors › Tobacco
A fact sheet that lists some of the cancer-causing chemicals in tobacco smoke and describes the health problems caused by cigarette smoking and the benefits of …

I want you to look at the article that comes up for your search and evaluate it for suitability of the reference. Use the following questions to guide your conference post.

  • Look at the scope of the article (does it cover the subject appropriately)
  • Who it the targeted to (is it a scholarly article, or is it written for a lay person)
  • The timeliness of the article (is the information current)
  • The authority of the article (who is writing it).
  • What about the documentation of the article (does it site other good references).
  • Finally, is the article objective.

http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/instruct/guides/evaluation.html  This is the reference that inspired these questions and will provide an expanded explanation of the questions. This discussion was inspired by an article on evaluating the accuracy of scientific information on the internet by Dr. Jory Weintraub, as a matter of fact I pulled some of this discussion from Dr. Weintraub’s article.

Part 2: Discussion- Sexual Reproduction

During week 4, cellular division is described for organisms undergoing sexual and asexual reproduction. In addition, the concept of genetic inheritance through Mendel’s work and Morgan’s research on fruit fly are introduced. Answer the following questions on Mitosis, Meiosis, and genetic inheritance.

  1. During the cell cycle, cell progression in that process is tightly regulated. Provide an example of a disorder resulting from errors in Meiosis. Is this disorder inherited? Explain.
  2. There is a database summarizing all genetically inherited disorders. I encourage you to take a look at the database (https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition ). It is a great resource. As you browse the database, you may find that most disorders are recessive. Why do you think there are not many dominantly-inherited disorders? (Think about the individual with a dominantly inherited disorder).

Scenario

Healthy Dynamics have been around for 25 years and has a company-wide strategy in place, but the old strategy has proven to be ineffective of late in generating new ideas and revenue streams. The current plan provides wellness strategies for their clients and a commitment from the staff of Healthy Dynamics to deliver high quality, effective customer service and comprehensive wellness strategies. Currently Healthy Dynamics offer its clients the following wellness program components: smoking cessation, health risk assessment, biometric screening, nutrition education, cooking demonstration, and chronic disease prevention education.

The company is considering either a merger or acquisition to prevent bankruptcy. Both options will result in layoffs, and your department will be affected with an anticipated 80% reduction in staff. You have been assigned to produce a strategic planning model to prevent either of these possibilities. Should Healthy Dynamics take a leap and dive into other healthcare services, such as medical equipment and digital health, or add new components to their wellness program offerings to make it more comprehensive for their clients? Your first steps are to figure out where you think the company should go (vision), what you are hoping to achieve (mission), and then identify how you will move forward (objectives).

Instructions

Compile a PowerPoint presentation using speaker notes and/or voiceover narration that includes:

  • A well-defined vision and mission statements that advances your winning idea to increase revenue for the future and drive business success
  • 3-4 Strategic Objectives (What action will you take to achieve the vision and mission?)
  • Follow the “Verb + Adjective + Noun” format
  • Create strategic objective statements. How will you achieve each objective “explaining the objective’s intent and meaning?” (2-3 sentences each)
  • A PowerPoint presenting a minimum of 5-6 slides (excluding title and reference slides) that include speaker notes and/or voiceover narration

Your assignment should include a title page, a reference page, and a minimum of three scholarly sources, two of which must be retrieved from the Rasmussen Library.

[Solved] Healthy People 2020 National

[Solved] Healthy People 2020 National

Out of the 29 Healthy People 2010 objectives, a majority of those listed did not collect information specific to one’s sexual orientation and a companion document was later released to address the health needs of the LGBTQ community (http://www.glma.org/_data/n_0001/resources/live/HealthyCompanionDoc3.pdf). The Healthy People 2020 national plan now includes a section specific to LGBT health, however, only two objectives are listed for this section (http://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topicsobjectives2020/overview.aspx?topicId=25). For this discussion board assignment, you will need to develop at least two additional national, logical objectives to be included as it relates to LGBT health. The objectives should be based in the principles addressed in the Fenway Training modules listed as a part of this week’s reading; therefore, the objectives should address at least two of the following areas: (1) better care for LGBT populations; (2) risk reduction counseling; (3) health promotion and disease prevention; (4) the health of LGBTQ youth; (5) promoting the health of LGBTQ families; (6) older LGBT adult health and (7) health issues faced by transgender individuals. Be sure to provide evidence to support the development of your objectives.

Massage technique use dates back to ancient civilizations with the earliest written records of massage in Egypt and China, however the practice declined in the West until 1600 C.E. due to the rise in modern medicine (Alavian, 2023). In the early part of the 20th century, massage became more widely used but it was perceived as a method of treatment for the rich and luxurious. Later on down the road, massage went under scrutiny as it was seen under the category of the sex trade. Massage later earned its respect as more states regulated the practice and standardized the licensing and education for it making it a well used and mainstream treatment by the entire population. Research has also been done to see that massage for babies help infants cry less, sleep better, and be less stressed which can be used complimentary to Allopathic Medicine along with its uses in diseases such as Parkinson’s, anxiety, and migraine headaches (Alavian, 2023). Websites such as “Massage Envy” do help with the positive message of massages as it reiterates that these places create a customized experience, have licensed and educated employees, and testimonials scattered throughout the website.

[Solved] Priced Competitively Customers Typically

I have a couple of takeaways about meeting the customer’s needs and expectations that I have learned fromt the  competition. The first one and probably my biggest takeaway is ensuring the prices we set are within the range of the different segments from there you want to be priced competitively customers typically look for the lowest price and if you can stay competitive the better you will do .Secondly,y ensure your production is meetingth  demand we had a hard time doing that throughout the competition. Although I think we were improving at the end of the competition you want to ensure your forecasting and production capacity is correct.

[Solved] Least 6 Design Projects

This week has been all about your portfolio pieces, and this course is about strategies for success after graduation with an emphasis on portfolio development. With that in mind, it is time to dust off that hard drive, dig through your archives and find those projects you would like to show off in your final portfolio presentation.

Your assignment for will be to submit at least 6 design projects that you would like to showcase in your final portfolio. Those projects can be anything you wish, but consider who your audience is when deciding what should and should not go in your portfolio.

[Solved] Nẹp Nhôm Trang Trí

Aluminum trim is one of the most popular and durable types of exterior house trim. It is often used around windows, doors, and entryways to protect your home from water damage and pests.

It can also be used for interior areas to add a different look and feel to your home. In addition, aluminum trim is highly durable and can withstand a variety of weather conditions.

Countertop Trim

The waterproof features of aluminum trim make it ideal for countertops. It can protect the surface of the countertop from damage caused by spills and other liquids, and it provides an aesthetically pleasing finish that also prevents food from falling between the counter and its adjacent cabinetry.

Several companies offer a wide range of aluminum countertop edge styles that are suitable for most countertops. Quartz counter edges can accommodate many different shapes and designs, but some laminate and stone countertop materials may not accept all edge profiles.

Wood countertops are a good choice for a kitchen but must be maintained properly to prevent stains and other damages from occurring. Oiling the tops regularly adds hardness and water resistance.

Hat Channel

Besides providing an air gap and barrier, aluminum hat channels also protect walls, ceilings, and siding from moisture, material rot, mold, and mildew. This helps reduce the amount of maintenance needed.

Unlike steel hat channels, aluminum channels are lightweight, which makes them easy to cut and special order for specific projects. Additionally, they’re fire- and water-proof, making them an ideal choice for basement renovations.

Hat channels are a framing component used when furring concrete and masonry walls, ceilings, and drop ceilings. They’re available in a variety of gauges, depths, and widths.

Round Channel

Aluminum trim is one of the most effective and versatile types of aluminum extrusion products. It’s produced via the extrusion process, which entails pushing a pliable material through a profile (die) to create long, thin, and adaptable pieces that may be used for architectural decorative applications and accents, indoor and outdoor lighting, and engineering design.

The lightweight nature of extruded aluminum trim makes it a great choice for architectural planning and millwork, including store fixtures, displays, chairs, elevators, and woodworking projects. It’s also useful for edging tile to prevent chipping and as a transition between tiled floors.

Outside corner trim is a common application for this type of aluminum trim. It protects vertical drywall or the corner of a building and can be purchased in various designs, including square, radiused, round, elliptical, and tapered.

H Channel

One of the most widely used types of aluminum trim is the H channel. It is stable and durable, making it ideal for railings, door frames, and other types of trim.

It is available in a variety of widths, wall thicknesses, and design elements like battens to enhance their hold. It is also used as a decorative and aesthetic touch to complement a project’s theme or appearance.

This type of aluminum trim is waterproof and can be powder coated or painted to prevent water from seeping through it. It is also resistant to corrosion, which is why it is so popular for use as a protective layer on stairs.

Angle L

L angle trim is a popular option for tiled surfaces. It is a cost-effective and efficient alternative to brass or stainless steel, and provides protection from chipping and breaking of various ceramic tiles. The trim can be installed between two alternative types of flooring to create decorative border or it can be used vertically around a window, door or wall where the bordering wall is not tiled. It is available in a number of finishes, including mill finish, brushing stainless steel color and mechanical polishing.

Aluminum angles are an extruded L-shaped cross-section with inside radius corners and are designed with structural applications in mind, but are extremely versatile thanks to their weldability, ease of formability and machinability. They are generally available in a wide range of sizes and are often finished with a -T6 temper.
