[Solved] Scheherazad ” Contains Several

[Solved] Scheherazad ” Contains Several

In Agha Shahid Ali’s “The Half-Inch Himalayas,” the highest mountain range in the world is shrunk down to the size of a postcard—why might this poetic meditation on memory and heritage use this image? Ali’s home region of Kashmir is a place disputed over by three countries (Pakistan, India, and China), but aren’t all places are disputed over in terms of how they should be represented and thought of?

The Syrian poet Mohja Kahf’s “E-mails from Scheherazad” contains several small parables on the ways the gender and religion interact and inspire (and aggravate) one another–this series of poetic insights has much light to shed on how womanhood and worship “see” one another.

He had a myocardial infarction 2 years ago and has been treated with a beta-blocker, metoprolol, since that time. He has been taking hydrochlorothiazide in addition to the beta-blocker to treat his hypertension. [Solved] Physician Orders Many Daily

[Solved] Physician Orders Many Daily

Mr. Gold is a patient in your rural ICU and for the past 4 months. He is on a vent and is paralyzed from ALS.

The only real movement is that he can blink his eyes. At times when you are caring for him he appears to be crying and it is disturbing to you because he cannot readily communicate.  His wife comes in daily and asks many questions about how he is doing and has a hard time not crying.

The physician orders many daily tests. You wonder why since Mr. Gold certainly will not recover from this devastating disease.

One day the wife comes in demanding to have Mr. Gold removed from the vent.

The Pulmonologist orders a ‘weaning trial’; which Mr. Gold fails. You attempt to log into the computer to review his data, however the computer system is down.

Without access to the computer system containing Mr. Golds information, you are concerned as you need it to understand what is going on.

Address the following questions regarding this case and provide evidence to support it from our course materials or outside readings in your main post.

  1. How      could you apply one or more aspects of the Scope and Standards of      Practice, Code of ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements and      patient advocacy to Mr. Gold’s case?
  2. In      terms of malpractice, you wonder whether there is a possibility of      malpractice or negligence in Mr. Gold’s case.  You decide to      investigate to learn more by watching the Quaid video. In thinking about      malpractice, what elements appear obvious in the Quaid video, or do they?      What were the underlying issues in this case? What could apply to Mr. Gold      as well as the Quaids? Explain each and defend with evidence.

[Solved] Childhood Trauma Affects Health

[Solved] Childhood Trauma Affects Health

Forum: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

According to Kaiser Permanente, “Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are things that happen before adulthood that can cause trauma or they’re things that make a child feel like their home isn’t safe or stable. Children who have multiple ACEs tend to have more physical and mental health problems later in life. This may be because of physical changes that can happen in a child’s body when they have ongoing stress. It may also be because of health-harming behaviors (like smoking or risky sexual behavior) that are more common in people with more ACEs.”
